I couldn’t believe the best defensive team in the NBA (GSW) managed to get the draft’s best and most versatile defensive player in Jordan Bell!! How can 38 other teams pass up on this guy??

Now teams will have to deal with a TERRIFYING frontcourt of Green, KD and Bell. Wow. Good luck scoring on them.

amazing pick in the 2nd rd. Ready to have a good night’s sleep. THEN… we trade him for "cash consideration" aka GarPax suck and need money to bail themselves out of bad contracts. SMH.

I knew this would be a Warriors post. Yep, they got richer. Draymond Green and Now, Jordan Bell, man their death lineup become a lot more terrifying.

They will know how to use him, should do great things with that frontcourt line-up. Plus, Shams is reporting they signed Chris Boucher to a two-way contract. Oregon bigs killed it in this draft! So hyped for those guys, they were fantastic to watch together for the two years they were there.

Jordan Bell should be a good small ball center for them.  Lots of energy, rebounding, and shot blocking.  Can throw down alley oops, too.  So, it is insurance if a guy like McGee or David West leaves.

With McCaw probably upping his game up next year, they might not even miss Iggy if he goes to play somewhere else.

So, it is kinda some Iggy insurance with Bell’s motor, energy, rebounding, and defense, with McCaw being the off the bench glue guy on the perimeter.

I think the Celtics whiff IF they can’t get Porzingas.  Not very whelmed (under-whelmed?) by the Jayson Tatum pick.  MEH.  So, they really need some other assets.  You would think that you combat the Ultimate Warriors with a 7’3 unicorn like Porzingas to go with Horford and that backcourt of Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas.  Then you hope that you can sign Gordon Hayward.  You have an amazing fit for him at the 3 and your five man Near Death Experience is set.  You will still have Olynyk.  Maybe Jerebko.  Probably Terry Rozier.  You lose the Nets pick, but maybe that is a 3 or 4 pick anyway… and you still have either a 2-5 Lakers pick next year or a middling Kings lottery pick in 2019.

Porzingas, Hayward, Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley… that is a really really really good big four.  Horford and Olynyk are good.

That is about the only way you can really compete with the Warriors.  Not even sure you can get past the Cavs even if they are aging… if they can get Paul George and play a bit quicker with LeBron at the 4, then I see them back in the Finals battling Golden State.

Lakers had a good draft.  They got their leader for the next decade and a half.  They also draft a good backcourt partner for Lonzo in Josh Hart.  Pretty good backcourt there.  Oozes leadership.  I like Jordan Clarkson as the third guard.  I can see lots of 3 guard rotations in LaLa Land.

Portland: great move getting Zach Collins in a trade.  Really good 2-way center.  Then they get Caleb Swanigan at 26 who can give them a bunch of minutes at power forward.  Good complements to their super backcourt of Lillard and McCollum.

Kings: loved the Fox pick.  Justin Jackson: MEH.  Probably should have kept Zach Collins.  Then you have the potential death lineup of Fox, Hield, Skal, Collins, and WCS.  Skal is a 4 but he is long and skinny and not more lanky looking than a young Kevin Durant.

That should be a thing now, you have to think, ok, push comes to shove, what is our DEATH LINEUP?

You gotta have one.  Doesn’t even have to be great, you just have to have a lineup that just kicks every body’s rear end for 15-20 minutes a night in a perfect world where everybody is in the zone.

Fox and Hield look like stars for them.  Skal? Maybe.  WCS? Good complementary guy. Just thought that Zach Collins gives you some twin towers possibilities.

Justin Jackson: Ok, good fifth guy if you have 4 all stars.  An intangibles guy with the floater thing, some versatility.

Zach and Monk had more upside, OG Anunoby had more flair, but Justin Jackon might have been a solid "safe" pick.

Harry Giles: umm, the quintessential upside guy with no ups — or maybe even upside.  A hedge against Skal?  Not sure… Should be a solid role player guy.  Well, at least they don’t have to pick another big man for awhile, with Skal, Willie, Giles, and Papagiannis on the team.

Then they take my guy Frank Mason III at 34.

I had them taking Mason III if they had gone with Isaac at 5 and Collins/Lauri at 10.  The utility point guard.

OR, if they took Fox or Smith at 5, then I thought they could maybe reach for Justin Jackson at 10 — get the small forward.

So, they had a hybrid of that…

Guessing Mason III played with McLemore at Kansas?

Those two along with Hield give them a nice Big 12 contingent at guard to go along with the Kentucky product (Fox).

That’s a great "Name" draft too.  Either being hyped coming into the year, or having the accolades during the year, Mason III, Justin Jackson, Fox, and Giles, are some pretty big names.

If Zach Collins, Monk, and Anunoby don’t end becoming the guys we think they might be (on the upside) then the Kings potentially took the best or one of the best guys available at each spot.

LOVE the potential for a renewed Lakers-Kings rivalry.  Ball vs. Fox should be must see TV.  Hield vs. Hart at the 2.  Clarkson vs. Mason III off the bench.  Ingram vs. Rudy Gay/Justin Jackson at the 3.  Larry Nance, Jr. and WCS taking turns dunking on each other…

Minny: did they give up too much for Jimmy Butler? What is that time line?  Rubio and Butler are "older young guys" while KAT and Wiggins are younger young guys.  Markannen and KAT coulda been money on offense at the 4 and 5 spots.  LaVine is good…

Now they have the supposed go-to-guy in Jimmy Butler.  If Rubio hits a jumper then that is a cagey, defensive-minded backcourt.  If Butler and Wiggins don’t get in each other’s way, then that is a team that should make a run at the playoffs, possibly as a second round team.

Chicago picked up some good pieces for a rebuild: LaVine who is a freak athlete (or at least he was before the injury).  Kris Dunn has upside (hopefully).  I like Lauri Markannen.

Cavs: probably shoulda bought into this draft.  Now, if they can get Paul George then they look like a semi-lock to make the Finals.  If not, LeBron is probably gone after this year.

Even without PG13 though, the C’s didn’t improve themselves enough and neither did the rest of the East.  Cavs should get back to the Finals but I won’t write off John Wall and the Wizards.

But yeah, the Warriors won because the Cavs didn’t get Paul George.  Because the Celtics didn’t get Porzingas then went FULL MEH at 3 with Jayson Tatum.  Because Jimmy Butler went to a team in the other conference that won’t really matter, either.  Because the Warriors STILL got one of my favorite guys in this draft in Mister March aka Jordan Bell.  Ok, all he does is run, rebound, play defense, block shots, and dunk, but, what else is there???? The Warriors have KD, Steph, and Klay for the long ball.

I think the Warriors lose fewer games than the Raiders next year, and I think the Raiders have a good year…

I think people are slightly overreacting to the Jordan Bell signing, just like everyone was screaming how Damian Jones is the perfect center for them and a major steal. Well, Damian Jones didn’t play at all.

I expect Jordan Bell (at least for the fisrt couple of years in the league) to be pushed around by stronger guys, struggle to rebound, fumble passes and miss layups. He can turn into a fine player with time, but he’s not going to be the guy who makes Golden State even better in his rookie season, will be a step back from what they had in McGee if Javale doesn’t return.

He will never be a starter but he is a good rebounder and defender. That’s all he will be asked to do, nothing more, nothing less. Just a hard worker coming off the bench for some dirty work while Curry, Klay and Durant score all the points.

I love this pick. Love it. Perfect team for him to shine, and his personality and style fit in perfectly with the team and culture already. He’ll get along with Green real quick, and all the shooting will take pressure off of him on offense.

I think his size and athletic ability is what makes this such a good pick. He can switch onto smaller guys and hold his own, but it’s his IQ that will really help him out. He’s just a baller, understands the game, and makes the right play. He is a good passer for his size, and that will show is GS, and he knows were to be to get easy buckets and rebounds.

I can see him having an instant impact replacing McGee, and can average 7-7-2 this year in 20 minutes.

    A+ draft for the Warriors.

i wouldnt be surprised if he starts at center for the warriors. I mean they dont want a guy who needs the ball. They want defense, rebounding and ability to finsh plays around the rim and just overall energy. Weve all seen dray get crazy on his teammates when they dont bring it, well ive seen bell do the same in college to teammates when they dont bring it on defense. Warriors just got a great fit.
