Remember The Name, Rakim Sanders

Boston College shooting guard, Rakim Sanders, was once on his way to play for Tim Floyd and the USC Trojans, until OJ Mayo committed to USC, and the thought of losing shots and perphaps a starting spot to OJ, changed his mind. Now a sophomore, the 6'5 guard out of Rhode Island, is making his presence felt in college basketball, as showed in his 22 points, 6 boards, 7 steals, 2 blocks performance on # 1 seed North Carolina and one of the nation's best perimeter defender, in Danny Green. Sanders is putting up roughly the same numbers he did last season, with 12 points per game, 4 boards, almost 2 assists, almost 2 steals, and a block. Those may not be eye popping numbers, but this kid got game and already has an NBA frame. When Tyrese Rice eventually graduates at the end of the season and perphaps move on to the NBA, Rakim Sanders is going to be ready to take charge of the Eagles and become the vocal point on offense for the 2009-2010 season, just watch.

NBA Comparison

If I had to compare Rakim Sanders to an NBA player, it would be Quentin Richardson. He got a chisled frame like Q-Rich, he's just a inch shorter, he can use his heavy frame to post up smaller defenders, he's a streaky three point shooter, when he pushes his self to, he can play some pretty good defense as shown in his stat line in the North Carolina game, and he's athletic.

I agree

I played against Rakim in highschool and that was three years ago...I think he's been under the radar at BC, but he defintiely has a Pro Game and is probably the best prospect out of RI in a while...he might be a late first round-early second round steal in the '10 or '11 draft

NBA

Teammates Malik Hairston and Maarty Luenen unexpectedly heard their names called but Taylor didn’t.

Siirler Hikayeler Fikralar Programlar Guzel Sozler Resimler freetemplates Taylor was arguably Oregon’s best player last season, but his 6-foot-4 frame makes him a undersized at the next level. Nonetheless, his scoring ability, length and athleticism give him a chance to make in in the league.
