KevinDurantRocksParticipantIs there a team that could ship away its pieces in this draft and acquire pieces through high draft picks?
For example the way seattle acquired Durant and Green?

MkadozaParticipantSeattle drafted Durant with their own pick. The key is if your trading for a top 10 pick, your going to have to give up an established player, either a player who’s had success (Ray Allen then, maybe a Kevin Martin or Chris Kaman) or a young player with upside seen as comparable to the draft pick (Think Anthony Randolph or OJ Mayo).
Teams that have assets that are coveted are probably the Wolves, Golden State, and the Bulls.

jeff416ParticipantNew Jersey could trade Harris for a high pick if they got Wall.

festar35ParticipantWolves, Warrior and Bulls are all young teams they are rebuilding.
I could see the 76ers moving Iguodala’s contract for another Top10 pick and then build around Young, Holiday, Speights and those two picks.
Same with Washington if they want to part with Butler and Jamison then start fresh with some young talent like Young and McGee.0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/08/2010 - 5:07pm #245756
BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantHonestly, the Rockets probably could get some team’s lottery pick if it takes back a couple contracts that go beyond this year in return for McGrady.

Wall
Williams
Yi
Cousins
LopezSaying Yi could play sf

beasyI CAN SEE THE ROCKETS DOING IT. I CAN SEE THAT TEAM BEING GOOD IN A COUPLE OF YEARS BUT NOT RIGHT AWAY WITH COUSINS LEARNING, YI LEARNING TH EPOSITION AND BECOMING A SF AND WILLIAMS NOT BEING ABLE TO SHOOT RIGHT NOW TEAMS WOULD JUST SAG OFF OF WALL AND WILLIAMS. ALSO CDR WOULD START….SORRY ABOUT THE CAP…MY CAP BUTTON IS BROKEN

the I in winParticipantusually you don’t see teams trading top 10 picks because it is historically stupid and many teams have given up the first overall pick because of such trades. (Cavs had the first pick but traded it to the lakers, it turned out to be James Worthy) (Utah had the first overall pick and it was conveyed to the lakers, that was magic. 2 hall of famers given away to the same team no less)
