Will Ben Simmons drop to out of the lottery? Will Kris Dunn become an elite top 3 prospect? Will Skal fall to the second round?

Tell me who you have a bad feeling about and will bust out and who you think will develop and rise to an elite level?

Simmons will NOT drop out of the top 4.

Jaylen Brown could drop out of the lottery, or late lottery.

Kris Dunn may very well be a top 3 prospect.

Caris LeVert may drop to late first round.

Buddy Hield could jump to top 10.

Stephen Zimmerman/Henry Ellenson can be lottery potential.

    Alex Poythress/Wayne Selden undrafted.

Agree with everything except Zimmerman.  He just isn’t that impressive to me.

I predict Thon Makers stock for 2017 to go thru the roof after a year dominating HS competition.

Dude should have reclassified and played NCAA. Hes not actually skinny any more.

Simmons #1 unless someone else really blows up. Skal to drop.

Isaac Humphries draft stock to soar as he gets plenty of minutes.

Jaylen Brown to struggle against physical teams who negate his strengths but still a 15ppg player and top 10 pick.

     Simmons will be #1

Not too high on Skal. Probably will be top 10 but I doubt #2

Kris Dunn and Caris Levert won’t be drafted in the lottery

Jaylen Brown will be drafted in top 5

Jakob Poeltl will be a late lottery pick

Buddy Hield will be in the lottery

Damian Jones will drop. Mid to late First Round

    Those are mine…

This makes a lot more sense than what the other dude says. LaVert… I’m a fan. Lottery guy. He does pretty much everything well (except jump) and that goes far in the NBA. He’s crazy fast and quick, can get to the rack, and he really improved his handles playing PG last year.

Poeltl: I’m not high on him. At the moment, he doesn’t look like a first rounder. But big guys can change things and figure it out in a hurry. There’s such a fine line for 7 footers: from skilled 1st rounder to promising, but undrafted.

I watched a lot of Providence ball hoping to see Paschal Chukwu and saw nothing that said starting NBA player about Kris Dunn. Not a great shooter, not a great passer, not a great athlete. Someone will need to explain that one to me.

Buddy Hield: totally underrated. I think that guy’s a total scorer.

yeah, i figure jaylen brown the one to drop out of the top three as well. not sure how far he drops, probably still top ten, but i think jamal murray, brandon ingram, and dragan bender will be taken ahead of him. what do you guys think of dragan bender? i feel he may get the same kind of attention as kristaps porzingis. if kristaps isnt a huge dissapointment, which is quite possible (especially in his rookie season), than i think dragan bender is probably going to get top 6. domantas sabonis is not his father. i dont think he should be top ten but someone might do it, charlotte? 😉

Kris Dunn is a top 5 prospect and Jaylen Brown is a top 3 prospect. Poetl and Caris LeVert will settle in the late lottery. Xavier Rathan Mayes is a sleeper for me who could get picked in the early 20’s

Okafor was the Absolute rock solid lock to be #1 (I’m still shocked Phila got their hands on him at #3) & D’Angelo Russell was not even listed in the top 60 (first 2 rounds)….

And remember the september before that? Wiggins was the lock # 1 pick but by draft time Embiid was the run away favorite for # 1 until Cleveland luckily found that broken foot bone….

So who knows where we’ll be next June, still it’s hard to believe anyone can displace Simmons at the #1 prospect – but I felt the same way with Okafor & Wiggins…

I luv Dunn, I actually thought the Sixers were going to make a move to grab him late 1st round in the Draft that just passed… it’s hard to see Dunn going in that top 5 though – not b/c he’s not an excellent prospect, but b/c Troy Murray looks like the #1 PG prospect… I’m not knocking D’Angelo Russell but when Mudiay went to China there was a vacuum created for another PG to step into that spot… So I think Dunn will rise b/c he should have a great year in college but the combo of Murray & there is a def bias against older college player….

What’s the deal with Jaylen Bown? Why do so many of you guys believe he is going to drop???

I think Jaylen Brown is an elite prospect but I think everyone sees him dropping because he is an inconsistent shooter (still good though) and gets tunnel vision sometimes.

It all depends on the team. Celtics could use him, for instance, and we have the Nets pick. Hopefully he doesn’t show up to the Combine at 6’4" without shoes like Justise Winslow.

SF hungry teams are going to have a lot of choices in the top 5-10, but Brown brings a distinct package from the others.

I’ve heard he’s already a top notch defender, and if his defense is off the charts this year, then a lack of polish in his shot is not going to hold him back from the top 3-5.

As a Fighting Illini guy, I personally believe that Malcolm Hill will play his way into the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft.  Here are my reasons as to why I feel this way…

Malcolm Hill was a bit overshadowed during his sophomore season at Illinois by fellow teammate Rayvonte Rice.  While Rayvonte Rice was the best player on that Illinois squad (at least whenever his mind was right), Malcolm Hill made an impressive leap on his own.

He averaged 14.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game as an 18(!) year-old sophomore in the Big Ten.  He also shot the ball at a 44, 39, & 78% clip last season.  Entering his junior season, he is now labeled as THE guy for the Fighting Illini, and rightfully so.  He will be a 19 year-old junior.  He is extremely young for his class, which makes his potential that much more intriguing.  He also has solid size for the next level as a combo wing player (6’6", 232 lbs.)

His assist-to-turnover ratio wasn’t good, but it definitely is something that can be managed.  He wasn’t asked to be a fascilitator last season, but could definitely be a playmaker for this year’s team because of injuries and lack of depth at the point guard position.  He only averaged 1.5 turnovers per game which is not too bad, especially considering that he played close to 31 MPG.

The thing that I think will benefit Hill the most though was his time with Team USA practicing for the Pan-American games.  There he got to play with some of the better college players and even some professionals that have played in the NBA.  As a teenager, you can learn so much from guys that have been to the promiseland – and I just think that his experience there will ultimately push him towards his ultimate goal – the NBA.

I also think that if Illinois plays well enough this season that Kendrick Nunn has a decent shot at getting drafted as well (although definitely not as high as Malcolm).  Nunn is a little undersized for the 2-guard position, but he has extremely good athleticism and is a very good perimeter shooter (Roughly 37% in college).  If he can become a better dribbler and playmaker for the Illini this upcoming season, there is no doubt in my mind that he can sneak into the late first, early second round conversation.

Jonathan Jeanne could be a lottery draft and stash a la Dario Saric. 7ft 2 with a 7 ft 6 wingspan, terrific mobility, solid touch, can even shoot from outside, and has a good feeling for the game. Not ready physically though, that’s why I said draft and stash. By the way Timothé Luwawu is announced in theSecond round but  I think he could be a mid to late first round pick.

I could see Jaylen Brown having a Kelly Oubre type of year. Not saying that it’s going to happen, but I could see it.

I also think Caris LeVert will be picked in the 20’s

    – Ingram goes top-3, despite being somewhat raw and having an up-and-down year. His length/range/upside make his stock soar.

    – I like Malik Newman, but he’s destined for a high-volume, low-efficiency year at MSU. With below-average measurements for an SG, he slips to the late-1st, instead of going in the lottery.

    – Jaylen Brown is unspectacular, but still has a strong Winslow/S.Johnson type year. Is forced to play more 4 than he should, so he drops out of the top-pick talk, but still goes top-6ish. I’m still high on him as a prospect though.

    – Diamond Stone slips. He shows offensive upside but his game just doesn’t project that well (post-player, not a rim-protector, not a standout physically).

    – Jonathan Jeanne shoots up boards, with teams hoping to grab the next Gobert.

    – Mykhailiuk continues to underwhelm, with his questionable shot-selection and lack of physicality.
