I heard that Utah really likes McCollum, Larkin and Canaan as far as PGs. I expect their other first round pick to be a big man as both Big AL and Millsap will likely be leaving this summer. The only big guy that I’ve heard Utah likes is Noguiera. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if they instead go with Plumlee, Olynyk, or Withey.

I believe their draft big board is like this:
    Point Guards:
    McCollum
    Larkin
    Canaan

    Big Man
    Nogueira
    Olynyk
    Plumlee
    Withey

Larkin is likely to be available at 14, but he is under 6 feet, and has an average wingspan. He also only weighs 176 pounds. So even though he is fast and has an outstanding vertical he would be man handled by practically every starting pg in the league. Utah needs a PG that weighs at least 185 and is at least 6 feet tall. So the only point guard that fits the bill that is on Utah’s point guard board is Canaan. McCollum would work too, but he likely will be gone by 14. Canaan will be available 14 but I suspect that Utah will realize that he is also likely to be available at 21. But at 21 their big man prospect of Nogueira might not be there. So if they are smart, I think they will snag Nogueira at 14 if available, if not then go for Plumlee or Olynyk. Then wait till 21 to pick their PG. I think it will end up being Canaan.

Chad Ford says Utah really likes Canaan a lot. He also says that they are mildly interested in Nogueira but his strong performances recently in Euro Camps have solidified their feelings about him.
