mds0549ParticipantThe Timberwolves free agency has been disappointing considering the salary cap space they had going in. Brandon Rush and Cole Alrich are the only two players that have been picked up so far so the question now is what else do they do in the offseason. With Kris Dunn signed you have to think that there is still a good chance that Rubio gets traded. In today’s market, his $11 million salary looks like a reasonable price to pay for a PG with his abilities so the question is who is still in the market for a starting PG and what would Minnesota get in return.
I can make a case for Philly and Sacramento in need for Rubio and we know that Philly is open to trading some of their young bigs.

benny15Participanthonestly, i can see dallas as the team that would most likely to want to get Rubio and if not them, Brooklyn. problem with either of those trade partners is that they dont really have much for them to trade to minny, at least not for a good enough offer that would entice the timberwolves.

kobyzParticipantIf you Minnesota staying put is not the worst thing seeing those crazy overpay contracts given, so not that dissepointed, better wait for the right one…

TheWhiteLionParticipanti can see them trading rubio to sacramento for one of the bigs they drafted this year or last year and mayb a draft pick depending on the pick and the player that is involved in the trade. It helps both teams out. Minnesota could use another guy to either play power forward or for depth and the kings can use a pg that can help make plays and get the ball to boogie

OhCanada-ParticipantStay put. I don’t see what the problem. Is the roster has fits all the way through 10 plays. Great versatility and depth. Let Thibs work his magic and develop these guys and cross your fingers. Towns is a top 5 Center. Build around that. Wiggins is very close to being a top a top 5 wing. Dunn and Lavine give you a great offense and defense punch with complementing games and huge upside. Rubio just needs to improve his shot making ability. Then with Dieng, Bazz, Bjelica you have good role players and depth then some leadership from Garnett and Pekovic. This team is loaded and Flip Saunders R.I.P. and Sam Mitchell did a good job slowly developing them to this point. They are almost there and Thibs is the perfect guy to demand the most out of them.

BiggysmallsParticipantWhy would MN trade Rubio?
I seriously don’t understand how people can’t seem to comprehend that it is okay to have two good players at the same position. It isn’t football where you can only have one QB.
Rookie PGs rarely do well right away and the Wolves want to get to the playoffs. Handing the keys to a rookie PG isn’t the way to do it.
On top of that, the teams that could have interest in Rubio don’t really have assets to make a deal work that would be mutually beneficial.
There’s very little that Sacramento can offer MN that makes a deal make sense on both sides. Same goes for Houston.

goddagParticipantPeople, Rubio isn’t going anywhere at least this year. He plays defense better than most other point guards.
Get it in your heads.
