The Real Story on Michael Jordan Getting "Cut" From His Laney High Varsity Team
Being cut is when you don't make any teams and have to watch from the stands... That's just my opinion.
But I really do think this is what makes Jordan so great. He's literally the shining example of prove people wrong. He's a killer and doesn't care. Kobe tries to be that way, but he's not. You have

I COMPLETELY understood what you were writing. Still think you missed the point of the article. Pop won't even admit that he has a mental illness. He obviously has demons far beyond cutting Michael Jordan from varsity. The fact that Michael Jordan decided to invite him there with the basic goal of "You were wrong and I was right", than cutting him loose, Pop's admission of the fact would probably not solve very much.
Say what you will about cutting the greatest player ever from varsity his sophomore year, Michael Jordan was not Michael Jordan in high school. If you read the entire article, you will see that Mike had his struggles with making his team competitive and Pop's best years as a coach were without Michael Jordan on the roster. You will also see that this man did not just cut Michael loose, but took a genuine and real interest in helping him improve as a basketball player. Michael Jordan would be going beyond the call of duty doing anything to help the man out, but he has not and remains to harbor a grudge that seems pretty petty and ridiculous.
Or, the man with a mentally fragile state of being should just admit he was wrong and everything will be sunshine and lollipops. Thanks for your input, though, really added to the post.
Definitely am not against having a sense of humor and sarcasm, but I felt like this article was real and interesting. Hence, my not really feeling the jokes. For all I know, you very well could have gotten the spectrum of this article, as you seem to, but when your only response begins with "Lol", it is pretty easy to misinterpret.
Obviously Pop cut Michael from varsity, but I feel like this story was almost mythicized to the Laney coach not believing in Michael Jordan's abilities, which seems to be exceptionally far from the truth. Michael Jordan seems to know this as well and he seemed to do a bit to pay tribute. I find it really odd he did not consult Pop or tell him about the shoes with his initials, though. Still, this has become common folklore that obviously had much more to it than MJ just being cut for Leroy Smith. Was incredibly interesting to see everything that was left out.
