Winning_TimeParticipantAt number nine, would you guys consider Devon Booker a reach for the Charlotte Hornets? This team is going to get worse before it gets better (dealing with getting rid of Lance, moving on from Al Jefferson) and I think developing a great shooter (the Hornets biggest need) would be smart. I know the argument is that you should always take BPA usually ends up being true, I think Booker can be pretty good and if I’m the Hornets, I would rather go BPA with the 39th pick instead of my 9th.

Numbers_CruncherParticipantHe’s a reach, but not a big one in my mind. I like how Pat Riley has come out saying Miami is looking for a Klay Thompson like player. No doubt in my mind he only said that in hopes Charlotte will take Booker.

juves4783ParticipantI personally think it’s a huge reach, considering they have other needs like an offensive SF and questions at C (if Jefferson opts out and Biyombo being a restricted free agent). They drafted PJ Hairston to be the sharp shooter and he’s still on the roster (I’m not huge on him being a SF due to his height). Troy Daniels can shoot and Stephenson is unmovable.
I say the best bet is pray Hezonja falls or go with WCS, Myles Turner, Winslow or Oubre in that order.

mamadouParticipantAbsolutely a reach, a team need more than BPA, but at the same time he’s the youngest player in the draft, he played in a stacked team, he had better measurements than expected, it should add value to his natural range 15-20.
This kid is a natural born shooter and scorer despite his physical limitations, instincts you can’t teach, old school 18YO, he makes plays, maybe not a facilitator at the end of the day, but probably a 3-4 assists SG.
I’m on MKG’s’ bandwaggon since day one, so no stanley johnson, they drafted biyombo, zeller and vonley at 7, 4, 9, another big at 9 is a also a reach…a failure.
There’s no PG available and that’s unfortunate for them, they ain’t going anywhere with kemba as the starter even if i like the man.
Hezonja or Booker should be the pick.
The 5 best 3 pts shooting teams in the league were the last 5 teams alive in these PO, it’s not a coincidence…
Hornets were dead last in 3 pts FG %, 26th in 3 pts FGM.
It ain’t another PF, PF/C, or 8 pts defensive C who’ll change who you are when you’re allowing 97 pts, scoring 94…

omphalosParticipantBooker will struggle to get minutes on a team that values D, he’s that bad on that end of the court.
Definitely a reach.

King CaluchaParticipantIt’s a reach, but it doesn’t mean they wouldn’t do it. Today I was thinking that if the Hornets really want a shooter, they’ll have to reach or trade down. Probably they’re going to call Oubre, Dekker, Johnson and other wings and see if they could be the answer.
So, they could trade down, but I think there are several teams in the 7-14 range who would like to pick a shooter, so any of those teams could reach in for Booker.

sitlbitoParticipantI know some of you on this site are not a fan of need, but I like it when it’s an absolute GLARING NEED. Charlotte needs shooting BADLY,and I think he has decent potential. I think he’s worth the risk honeslty, except if they think there’s a huge talent you can’t pas on. But I don’t see it.
