Raptors Trade Idea

This is my trade idea!

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3ulalwh

I really want OJ to be on the raptors! and this would work!

Raptors get OJ and should draft Kanter Line up would be

Bayless/Calderon, Oj mayo, Demar Derozan, Ed Davis, Enes Kanter

Bargnani along side kevin love would be great, since bargnani wouldnt have to worry about getting any rebounds lol..

I bet memphis doesnt re-sign gasol because they just spent alot of money on Zach Randolph, he could slide to center while beasley comes in at the 4..

My Thoughts

Here are my thoughts about this trade

1.) As a Raptors fan, I love this trade but lets be realistic, 3 players in a 3 team trade is highly unlikely, has that ever happened?

2.) I don't think Randolph would be as effective at C as he would at the PF position. If Beasley does come to Memphis, he would either play behind Randolph (and I feel Beasley should be starting on a team) or he'd take Rudy Gay's spot, which we all know, won't happen. So it's a waste for Beasley to be in Memphis.

Please no!

As a Raptors fan....no thank you. O.J. Mayo is not the type of personality I want management to bring in. Although I do think spending some time on the bench has probably humbled O.J. somewhat, and the Raps need more solid scoring options, it's just not the most appealing scenario, and most importantly I think because Andrea plays a more valuable position we could get a better player for him. Is Mayo is worth taking a chance on? Ya maybe, but that price is too steep for the Raptors, Bargnani should bring a little more in.

Once again I'll repeat a pckg to GS for Curry would be great for the Raps, and I'm sure GS would feel better with a line-up of Ellis, Derozan, Williams, Lee, Bargnani.....meanwhile the Raps Biedrins/ Kanter, Davis/Udoh, Johnson, Weems, Curry/Bayless or hey if you think GS would do it without Derozan being involved then awesomeness to the possumness for everyone here that thinks Derozan needs to stay. :)

Horrible trade proposal,

Horrible trade proposal, ruins every other team. The Wolves have a better starting C and a better starting PF then the Raptors, whether or not you believe Darko is a better C then Bargnani alongside Love or not is your opinion, Im just telling you he is. Randolph playing C is another bad idea, he is not particulrly known for his help defense, length, or for being the anchor of a defense. Beasley and Randolph as a defensive frontcourt would be a nightmare. I like the idea but you would have to work it out a bit better.

Why would any team do that

Why would any team do that Sudds. Why would a team completely upheave their marketing products, and start from scratch. Basically you are trading both teams total collocted talent amongst eachother, not only this but Golden State gets much more talent in return. So that would make fans have to forever think "what if" we kept this guy, "what if" we kept that guy, the fans would have to grow on the new players, and so much more culture shock to the team. Also, dont forget about team morale, you cant just trade these guys away from their friends. Then Curry, Beidrins, etc. get their contract years and leave, so do Bayless, Davis etc. because the management neglected their wishes and traded away their teammates. Think rationaly. I mean its not like Toronto would improve from that deal, they would be in the exact same position, possibly worse off as they are right now.

Oh Cana-duh

Generally to get big name players with star potential you have to give some players with potential. What marketing products are you talking about?? Lol total collected talent who?? GS keeps both Lee and Ellis. The Raps have no one to market right now realistically, everyone who is on board would be playing second or third fiddle to Bosh if he had stayed and he's playing a horrible third in Miami right now. Sometimes building a future champion takes calculated risks, and we (the raptors) would be getting the best player in the deal in Curry. Curry who by the way GS have continued to flirt with the idea of moving for a more natural backcourt mate for Ellis.

I think there might be some "homers" like you that miss the idea of Bargnani never turning into Dirk, or Derozan dunking a ball or two, but realistically we need to start building around star quality players. As far as players invested in the team and not leaving, maybe Curry will come over and see Toronto believed in him enough to trade for him, and hear from his Dad how nice the city and the people are, and decide that this is a great place to try to win. Biedrins can leave for all I care, he could just maybe bring some defense and size to a frontcourt who has none, and maybe we could trade &$#%#&@! contracts with GS sending Calderon back the other way.

If we suck for a year then we get a great shot to fill in the missing pieces next draft (which will be deep), and our core would be Curry, Davis, Kanter, Udoh. Add someone like Davis or Quincy Miller and how is that bad at all?? Lol

Trades aren't always popular with the players, but that doesn't matter it's a business and they're a big part of it, plus the general idea is to improve and build a team that makes the playoffs and thus makes money, and perhaps if we are lucky a championship.
