News stories out that Masai is trying to move into the lottery and nab the Canadian Shai Gilgous Alexander

I like this move a lot, extremely hard working kid who made leaps and bounds during his lone college season. Obviously doesn’t play like Jayson Tatum but his coachability, work ethic and defense remind me of him a lot.

I’m trying to think of what the raps can trade for a high enough pick, they lost their pick this year in order to get rid of Demarre Carrol’s contract

Perhaps: Kyle Lowry plus Delon Wright

Would have to take someone back to match salary, but I like the sounds of a quick rebuild involving getting rid of at least 2/3 of Lowry, Derozan and Ibaka

I thought the Raptors wanted to compete now? Massi needs to be fired…He’s trying to move Norm Powell right after giving him that ridiculious contract. You move up in the top 10 you’ll have to give up Kyle or Demar, then you’re not competiting. Shai reminds me alot of the backup guy Delon Wright. Not a good move atless he’s hitting the re-set button.

If Lowry takes another step backwards next year, I’m not sure that he’s any better than Wright or FVV. Masai is great at improving the Raptors with addition via subtraction. Moving Lowry for a late lottery pick wouldn’t be a bad move IMO.

After watching Derozan consistently choke in the playoffs, I’d be supportive of hitting the reset button, he has the biggest drop-off from regular season to playoff efficiency that I’ve ever seen. That’s not going to change magically when he turns 29. Unfortunatley Lowry probably has more value than him (at least to the 76ers) so you have to trade what you can if you don’t want to set a record for most playoff sweeps while having the best record in the conference

Why would Lowry have any value to the Sixers? The last thing they need is another PG, especially one with a ridiculous contract.

Lowry’s best role in my opinion is an off ball point guard. Plays in the flow of the offense, hit some trailing 3’s and handle the ball here and there to give Simmons a break. Plus Lowry is a good if not great defender, a massive step up from TJ McConnell (who I don’t think is starting quality)

You’re forgetting about Fultz. Just because casual fans have given up on him doesn’t mean the Sixers have. The guy had an injury but when he finally come back he played really well for a 19 year old, including becoming the youngest player ever to record a triple-double.

Lowry is 32 and still owed over 60M. He does not fit the Sixers wage structure nor timeline.

The Cavs are the only team i can see  in the lottery trading for Lowry.

Id say Lowry and JV and a future lotto protected 1st for #8, George Hill, Larry Nance, TT and Korver.

The Cavs do this because they still have Love and may be able to keep a low playoff seed for a few years before needing to blow it up completely. They will have Lowry, Love, JV as the core with a future 1st coming back.

The Raps do this as there is no one else in the lotto they can move Lowry to to get their man SGA at #8. They have George Hill to guide him for a year before they release him when he has only 1 mil guaranteed left. . They bring TT home to play JVs role but as a reward for this they get Nance and whats left of Korver. They next focus on moving Ibaka.

The Coach hire going for a unproven coach.

The fact they have probably hit their ceiling

and the fact its an expensive roster to always get bounced by Lebron.

So I could see them cashing in on Lowry and Demar while they still have some value and their contracts don’t look as bloated as they will in 2-3 seasons.

Teams that could help the Raptors get the mentioned player:

Cavs,Knicks or Clippers(if the guy falls that low)

Rumour has it the Raptors want in the top 10. Cavs and Knicks would seem most likely teams to do a deal. Philly at 10th doesn’t have an obvious fit for a Raps player IMO and if DeRozan was in play then Raps would want a better deal.

If DeRozan was legit available then he would get suitors given he was 2nd All NBA this year, is a top level player and has 3 guaranteed years on a decent contract for his skillset.

Wow. You get swept two years in a row by the Cavs going 2 for 12 in three series you fire your head coach the coach of the year and then you think the awnser to your problems is trading your 2nd and 3rd options to them for Shai Gilgous Alexander and dead weight contracts? I know in the world of asset, contract and revenue management your supposed to put personal emotions aside but something just seems extremely wrong submitting defeat in such a manner and bolstering the lineup of the team that destroyed your whole operation while also rewarding the players you are exiling from your organization for poor play by sending them to a potential championship team. Go ahead make the deal with LA, Chicago, New York, even Denver I dont care but not Cleveland. That just makes you look like a joke.
