Paul george, Hassan Whiteside, Avery Bradley, Eric Bledsoe, Xavier Henry, Solomon Alabi , Damion James All set to workout for raptors. This was going to be the 2nd workout for bradley with the raptors, but he hurt his ankle traning with the nets soo will just watch.

I think the raptors are real high on bradley and since he isn’t a true PG, this could really give hedo more touches and run the half court offense. This can be a possibilty since hedo has a horrible contract and might not leave.

I agree with you. Hedo might have to stay put and play hlf a season with the hope that the non playoff bound raptors can trade him for value to a playoff contending team, raise his stock with a good turnaround season and dispell the talk about him being a washup. The Dino’s aren’t going to the playoffs (unlikely) and they’re going to have to settle for the unknown next season. Avery looks interesting and as a Raptors fan I don’t hate this pick but I hope they don’t expect him to play the 2 grd. and tht they plan to groom him as a PG.

This might send some reaching for the scattergun, but (assuming Bosh jets) if the Raps take Bradley, and keep Hedo, the team would then become his team from a ball control perspective. Yes Bradley would play around with it some as a scoring 1, but hedo would become the 6’10 pg, a situation he’s very strong in. If he rebounds passes and scores like he did in Orlando, people will forget the bad season, and begin cheering him … he might not want to leave. It is not clear how bad the situation really is, but if it is reparable, and Bradley is seen as a cheap Iverson, Jason Terry, Ellis type of scoring 1, this might work. Worst comes to worst, Hedo’s value would go up, increasing what we would get in a trade.

The Raptors are a lost franchise and always will be. There will never be a time when they are good. They will always be a mediocre team. i.e. Clippers, Hornets, Pacers,

A few years back neither the Pacers or Hornets were mediocre. Both were considered legit title contenders within the past 6-7 years. Teams go through rough patches, and rebuilding. With the economy the way it is, some places got hit harder than others, sending them into rebuilding mode.

I agree the Clippers are terrible, and it is because their owner has been notoriously bad. Think basketball’s version of Al Davis. The clips lose a lot because they play with six players pg, sg, sf, pf, c, and the ghost of Donald Sterling.

Toronto has had some troubles and does not have the pull of a Boston, LA, Mia, Chi, but they have been mediocre for a few years. They will not stay that way (as long as they don’t make too many stupid moves). Boston, and Chicago were in the lottery for quite a while over the past 10 years. Same with Atlanta.

I think if they get Bradley Hedo will start doing well and get his value up and then some team will trade for him.

To be honest. If hedo picks things up significantly (i.e. becomes a leader, clutch player, and gets 18, 5, 7) people in Toronto will love him, and cheer for him all the time. It is possible that he might not want to leave. In this case Toronto would be wise to keep him for another two years and rely on his facilitation while Bradley’s pg skills develop. There are not a lot of point forwards in the league, and Toronto needs one if they want to play Bradley at the 1 and DeRozan at the 2. After two years or so they might think about trading him so they are not burdened by his big contract as he nears 35. He might have good longevity however, as his game is based entirely on skill and his size, not athleticism. I could see him being a strong contributor for a team for the remainder of his contract, as long as the team relies on him as a facilitator and shooter.

His defensive weakness will be masked to some degree by the strong perimeter D provided by Bradley and DeRozan (the raps see him having a ton of defensive potential). Combine that with a strong defensive center (the raps need this no matter what and everyone knows it), and a strong approach to team defence and the team should be good on D.
