This is based only in stats taking into account the players efficiency, his PER, team record etc. Doesnt take into account heroics or other aspects that also could be considered for analysing this award.
1. Dirk Nowitzki
2. Deron Williams
3. Pau Gasol
4. Amare Stoudamire
5. Russell Westbrook
6. Lebron James
7. Manu Ginobilli
8. Kobe Bryant.
9. Kevin Durant
10. Chris Paul
Honorary Mentions: D Rose, D Wade, D. Howard, R. Rondo, K Garnett
is this hollingers list? Its extemely weak.No rose or howard equals automatic fail. Pau hasnt been more important then kobe since like week 3.
he just shut this topic down!! lmao
People is soooooooooo dumb thats why there is the clarification on what im basing statistics if u could take the time and check them u will notice rose is not top ten in any of the efficency stats, gasol is THE MOST EFFICIENT player in the nba. Orlando just came of a 4 game losing streak hurting Howards winning percentage coefficient but i guess numbers are not 4 everyone.
i guess u would rather have a ranking like this one:
Recognize this? this is the top 10 players in pts plus rebs plus assists the kind of stats that people with no knowledge only take into consideration. Is not all about the volumes is also about winning and efficiency
And guess ur MVP would be Kevin Love lol sometimes u need to look a little deeper than pts plus rebs plus assists well, if u want to make a serious analysis
(Pau excluded on goin Pau Gasoft for the past 15-20 games)
nah man its an ok list. but rose and howard are probably 2 of the top 4 guys right now with amare and deron williams imo. but what makes dirks numbers better than amares. he has a better supporting cast. they both dont play much defense.
mostly in that order
whatever, is funny you made an mvp list based entirely on stats and then tell us we need to look past stats, lol. Theres more to the game then stats.
exactly. gasol had a hot start(about 10 games) and i havent been impressed since. i know amare has a team that hasnt been in the playoffs for like 10 years in good shape. d howard is leading a great team with like 22, 12 and 2.5. deron williams is beasting a good utah team with many new players to a good record and alot of comebacks. d rose is leading a team that is basically the same one that made the 8 seed last year(meaning they havent had boozer) to a good record while getting 24, 4 and 8. i mean you have to look at expectations, stats, standings, and many other things.
How is Rondo not in the top 10 of peoples list. He has the Celtics 2nd in win percentage in the league. He leads the league in assists by 3.5 a game. The a huge amount!!!! He is also 3rd in steals per game. he is shooting 53% from the field and almost 36% from 3 point line which is big improvment for him. He is also getting almost 5 rebounds a game. Not in peoples top ten thats a damn joke!
If Rondo played for any other team he would get his just do. Kind of crazy how good their team is and the best player on the team and quarterback gets very limited respect. It's whatever though. What does he do right? Haters 4 real.
Haters 4 real. You know it when you click that thumbs down 2.
Frankly I don't think Rondo would be near as good if he played for any other team in the league. He fits the Celtics perfectly and he is an excellent point guard in that system and makes the players around him better, but I think he would struggle in a lot of other systems.
LL perez u keep showing how dumb u are the idea of this thread was showing which player could backup with stats their mvp contender status but i guess its to hard to get it 4 u. off course i know there is more than stats but this is not the purpose of this thread.
LOl @ -2 and no comments saying why.
@ Im Your Father... What does that matter? He was drafted into this situation and is doing things no other point guards in the league and doing right now. I wasnt arguing he should be the MVP. He is not at that level... however give the guy some respect right now dont there are 10 players who have been more valueable to there team thus far. He is not the MVP but he has to be in the top 10!!!
@bdoody, I actually agree with that. I was responding to scout4real, who said that if he was on another team he would get his due.
whatever-you have no idea what you are saying. go away. leave ur own forum thread, that way you dont lose all of your points due to your stupid answers.
@whatever, i keep showing how dumb i am? lol, u mad? Ill make this very simple for you. You made a bad mvp list and justified it by bringing up stats. I said i disagreed with your players and never siad one word about stats. You then got butt hurt and said im dumb and that i put too much value in stats and that i probably htink kevin love is the mvp. You are the one bringing up stats kid.
My list would be
This is my list...with explanations. I know, I am whoring myself...feel free to thumb me down.
Anyone who uses PERs and efficiencies to determine award, DOES NOT watch basketball. Awards are never predicated on those stats. Its whose been most valuable to there team's success, not whose been the most efficient:
I think its pretty easy to see this is the top 5 in some order.
The only other candidate right now is Amare. LBJ/Wade/Kobe/Gasol are not MVPs, because they have other SUPERSTARS on there own teams.
good to see u again homey.
So Durant is not a superstar?
since obviously im biased, why is it that kobe bryant is so low on the mvp lists? He is averaging 27 and 5 and 5 while playing on one of the best teams in the league. But according to some people on here, hes hardly in the discussion?
I have him tied for third with the 2 Miami guys.
yeah, and i know your not even a kobe fan jammin. You and me are the only people on this thread that put him top 5. Regardless of where they rank, kobe lebron and wade are the 3 best players in the game still in my mind just like ive felt for about the past 3-4 years.
My list is based on the whole year so far. Gasol was carrying the Lakers for the first 10-15 games. Kobe is starting to come on and take over games but they have gone 5-4 over their last 9. He is moving up the list but other guys have been more important in my opinion.
I like Kobe's game but not his personality. But if im talking basketball, I gotta give him his due...He does some amazing stuff on the court. I agree too, Wade, Bryant, and LeBron are definitely tops with Dwight behind them and KD behind him.
@ daneboy, fair enough, although it wasnt like kobe was really struggling and pau was carrying them. It was close early and now its clearly kobes team. But he is playing the least minutes since he was a teen and still getting it done. 24 points tonight in 24 minutes and took the 4th off. I just think people have such high expectations of him they are immune to his great play. But when other guys emmerge they get more credit becasue it stands out more.
Thats just how it goes I guess for guys like Kobe. We just expect him to be great so we take him for granted. I mean Jordan should have won more than 5 MVP's.
You know what they say efficiency stats win championships...oh....what?
wow?! how did i forget Dwight in my MVP rankings. everyone moves down a spot and he goes #3.
"People is soooooooooo dumb"
Well you managed to showcase your stupidity in four words. Congrats.
