I was recently watching quincy Miller highlights on youtube and I forgot how muh a beast this guy was. Eveeryone forgot about him because of the injury obviously. But how well do you think he will produce at Baylor this season. He has that Kevin Durant game i know its used a lot but with him it seems to fit. Maybe if drummund does go to college and quincy has a good season #1 overall?

He definitely has talent enough to crack the top 5, but I doubt he can be #1 overall. To me, he isn’t even the best player on his team.

I think many GMs will be scared to take him because of his injury. Plus this is like a super strong class, Idoubt he will beat out Barnes, Davis or Drummond (if he is eligible) for the top pick.
Maybe if he stays for one more year, he’ll have a shot.

Quincy is good but no chance at #1 he will not be taken before harrison barnes who might of been the first pick this this year. Throw in mcado, drummond, sullinger and he has no chance….Hes tall and can shoot a lil but hes no kevin durant. Durant is a once in 20 years type of talent on and off the court.

QMiller is more of an all around player and good scorer with an abundance of growing ahead of him. We still need to see how he performs in college because we all know what Durant did at Texas……..

They’re both long, tall, skinny perimeter oriented guys, but Durant’s game is based more on shooting. Quincy is a pretty good shooter himself, but I think game inside the 3-point line is better than Durant’s. He has better handles than Durant, and can post up smaller players. I haven’t seen any semblance a post game from Durant yet. Miller also has the ability to play point-forward, unlike Durant.

He’s a good player. Imo he is a top 5 talent, he should stay one more year and declare for the 13 draft where i believe he could be a number 1 pick. If he declares this year and becomes one and done he is a guaranteed top 10 pick that could crawl up to the top 5. The Baylor frontcourt is stacked, Quincy Acy,Pery Jones,Quincy Miller and then you got Deuce Bello on the Guard with AJ Walton. So i dont expect Miller to put up huge numbers. Maybe around 14-16 points a game around 5-7 rebounds. He has a pretty good range but needs to improve his form. Athletic enough to be able to finish. I see where people compare him to kevin durant. Long skinny wings with great scoring ability. I still believe Perry Jones is a better talent though. Miller when he comes to the NBA should have a similar game to Durant’s. He doesn’t have exceptional passing ability or rebounding. He has the potential to be a tremendous scorer and defender.

There are aspects of his game similar to durant such as the way they approach the scoring side of the game however he isnt as good as him overall or as athletic as him.Anthony Davis at Kentucky has more of a Kevin Durant game.

I like the Lamar Odom comparision, if Miller can have that type of career then he will not have done too badly. A lot will depend how well he plays after a year out, if he finds his form again then he is a legit top 5 draft contender but with the next draft being such a deep draft then he’ll do very well and still be considered a top prospect if he goes in the top 10.
Maybe returning for his sophomore year could be something he considers if he takes a while to return to his previous form as having a couple of solid college seasons behind him would help dispell any concerns as regards his durability and also help him to contine mature both on and off court and make his game more NBA ready.

I didn’t give you any negatives, but its probably your comment about Miller being a better inside player than Durant. Durant did average 11RPG in college, im not sure if Miller is capable of putting up that kind of rebounding numbers.

Durant actually played PF in Texas, and his post up game was one of his weapon while he was in college. He doesn’t post up players like he use to in college (then again, he doesn’t need to when you have his jumpshot and craftiness).

I think he’ll have to improve his handles in order to take the next step, then probably his post game.
  I know Carmelo v. Durant has been debated plenty of times, but I’d rather have Carmelo because he’s the more complete scorer. He’s a pretty good shooter, can post up, and drive. Durant has one of the purest strokes in the NBA though. But I don’t think you can win a championship when your best player is mainly a jumpshooters that can’t drive consistently. Jumpshooter get cold, and when that happens and they can’t drive, it gets real ugly. This happened to Durant sometimes in last year’s playoffs.
  Now getting back to the Quincy v. Durant argument, I haven’t seen Quincy play an actual game yet, so I can’t say anything for sure. I was just going by highlights and scouting reports.

Quincy Miller is going to turn alot of heads next year, but #1 overall in a stacked 2012 class is stretching a lil bit… he’s more like 3-5 range tops in my mind at least. He’s essentially what Perry Jones brings to the table minus a few inches, and as we all know size always wins when comparing two players with such similar skill sets. However I do like Quincy’s game alot, and although KD’s name has been thrown around alot I actually see a little T-MAC in his game.

I do feel Melo has more moves scoring wise than any other SF, but at the same time he doesn’t score as much as Durant or even Lebron so I can’t call him more of a complete scorer.

  In that Drew League video, LeBron got pretty high on that windmill jam. Lets hope he’s lost some weight and has regained some of that old explosiveness.

For me its not about how you score, but if you can score alot and score efficiently. Just for an example Hakeem Olajuwon has more moves on offense than you can find in most players, especially centers. Shaq just overpowered guys with his drop step or a quick spin move. Hakeem is more versatile offensively than Shaq has ever been, but I think most ppl would rather have Shaq in his prime on offense than even Hakeem.

Baylor isn’t actually a good rebounding team, as Jones III doesn’t box out and is soft, and Acy isn’t actually that great of a rebounder. Baylor can grab offensive rebounds, but they struggle to grab defensive rebounds. Any rebounding by Miller will help. Baylor got killed on the boards last year by good teams. Miller probably will have to play the 3 mostly, though, so he may not get as many rebounds, but he won’t have too much competition for rebounds from his teammates.
