sixersman111ParticipantI don’t understand how no one talks about wisconsins pg taylor or even mentions him to be drafted. In my opioion i think he is the most nba ready pg in the draft and he isnt even listed as a 2nd round pick.

TheMOSTHATEDoneParticipantthat doesnt stand out in any category, that must be the problem.

B-ball fanParticipantHe lacks the foot speed to be even an average defender at the NBA level and his lack of finishing ability coupled with his lack of quickness and top level ball handling will prevent him from putting much pressure on NBA defenses. His inability to get separation from NBA defenders will prevent him from being an effective offensive player, which he needs to be given his shortcomings on defense (for an NBA prospect). He can shoot and pass a bit, but he is just too limited to be a significant prospect.

HaleParticipantI wouldn’t go that far^. He’s an amazing decision maker who’s actually become a pretty good shooter and he works his ass off on defense. But his playmaking ability isn’t special and he’s a low level athlete. I still think he’ll have a long career as a 4th guard or something.

bloodshyParticipantWe all loved watching him in college and wish him the best. But on sites like this, people don’t spend a lot of time talking about guys that have the potential to "have a long career as a 4th guard or something."

B-ball fanParticipantI don’t mean to sound really negative, but I doubt he makes it in the NBA as a second stringer or even a third stringer. I don’t think he will handle NBA ball pressure well and he has no elite skills. I think calling him an "amazing decision maker" is an overstatement. While he didn’t play in a college offense that showcased NBA skills, I don’t think he always showed great shot selection, and he didn’t really show anything special to me as far as court vision.
He was the only player on Wisconsin who could create his own shot and he is an excellent shooter. His percentages were hurt by the need for him to shoot late in the shot clock, but I just don’t see his isolation scoring tranlating to the NBA. I would rather have Casper Ware, who does have some NBA caliber skills.

HaleParticipantHis last two or three years his assist to turnover ratio was like in the mid threes. I never said he’s a great playmaker, but he’s a great decision maker.

HaleParticipantThat’s fair enough.

B-ball fanParticipantSure, he did make good decisions in his college offense, but the NBA is a different animal. He didn’t commit that many TOs mainly because he seldom got out in transition and basically never overpenetrated. He would miss shots rather than turn the ball over. His assists were disproportionately for jumpers, too. He didn’t create a bunch of easy hoops for his teammates.
I do get your point, but I don’t think that is enough for him to make it in the NBA.
