Questioning my Basketball Fanhood

Heres the conflict. I've always been rather critical with bandwagon fans and fans who become fans of teams in their area just because they live there.

that being said i'm questioning whether it is alright for me to become one of those people.
First off, I've been a huge fan of teams for all of my life and i'm not a fickle fan. I'm a huge fan of Duke, The clemson tigers (lived there for the first 10 years of my life), carolina panthers (saw them play when i was a kid in clemson), and thats about all of my allegiences.

Here are the circumstances.
First, i've never been a huge fan of any team in the NBA, just a fan of players, and i've wanted teams to win depending on the players they had (ex. i liked the T'wolves when KG used to play there). but i've never been a huge fan of any one franchise.

I'm going to college this year in Chicago and i think i'm going to become a fan. I'm going to try to get season tickets as well, as i have never lived in an NBA city.

Lebron James is my favorite player and if he goes there i'll be rooting for them to win regardless of the team.

What do you guys think? Is this fickle fanhood or am i in the green here? I'd love to know your opinions on this one

Sounds good to me. Despite being a Blazer fan I'm also a Bulls fan since I grew up watching MJ play at the age of 5 and plus I'm nowhere near the city of Chicago.

Why even pick a team? I'm an absolutley rabid basketball fan. I love everything about the sport. With that said i have no favorite team or player. I love the storylines and stats ...and I watch about 300 games a year. I find I tend to pull for the underdogs in a given series or regular season matchup. Certain players I admire more then others but I've never owned a jersey before because I can't bring myself to shell out that much cash on something "authentic".

You've found an exceptional sport to be involved in. Just be happy to be a fan of the game, period. :D

Absolutely nothing wrong with

Absolutely nothing wrong with having a favorite player and/or team, but the one thing is to be consistent, stick with your team even when they suck, dont bandwagon once your team is down....

Thats legit, the fact you are debating whether or not it would be bandwagon means you're not just a guy who picks the best team and cheers for them without blinking an eye.
