Prospects that you want to succeed..
I want BJ Mullens and James Harden to succeed (I'm a Thunder fan)
And Derozan and jennings, I'll be very dissapointed if they beome busts
McHale was a straight Hater...that is why he didn't play much in Minnesota
He was only with the Kings for like half a season...plus he was stuck behind Martin...of course he didn't play much there
Not to mention he is coming back from microfracture surgery was is extremely difficult to overcome
McCants is a sleeper...you will see
He is working out for the Mavs tommorow
He's working out for the Mavs? Nice. I could see him fitting in extremely well with that team. It makes sense because they need another shooter. I agree with you completely on this one though. The guy is a sleeper. He played well when he got the chance so don't write him off yet.
As far as the guy I really want to succeed. I want to say Hansborough. I think he's gotten a lot of crap despite doing everything he could to win, while also being the best player on a National Championship team and National Player of the Year. Also, I really want to see Blair do well. I want to see him destroy teams for the next 10-12 years and have no injury issues. Maybe finish in the top 10 in rebounding multiple times.
Hansborough, everyone hates on him, i really hopes he proves doubters wrong and develops into a good player
Also Shaun Livingston, he was the next big thing and has just had lots of injuries, even when he's healthy he plays out of fear of getting hurt, in the right situation and with a full season he could fulfill his potential
Im Not Going To Lie......I liked Mcants but The Dude was Like Non-Existent...But Im Just Saying He Might Just be A okay Player His Whole Career, but dont expect more
I want Javale Mcgee and Greg Oden to suceed. I like them both and would be disappointed if they never filled out their potential despite their wingspans, height, shot blocking ability and athleticism.
I'm hoping and praying that Austin Daye become a legit NBA player. As long as he puts on 30 or so pounds, add a post game, and stop trying to be a 2guard, he'll be a solid player for years to come. Also, I want him to prove me wrong in saying that was a horrible pick at 15
I thought he would be an impact player after dominating the Pac-10 at ASU, He always reminded me of Clarence Witherspoon, but except a few brief surges hasn't done much, he came on strong with Sacramento at the end of last year i hope he earns minutes and fulfills his potential, i
Sean Livingston, he was only suppose to be the next Magic because hes a 6'7 PG, but I want him to succeed, he was a rising star until that knee injury
I wanna see Greg Oden succeed, he was suppose to be the next great big man for the next 15 years, if he was a bust it would be worst than Darko & Kwame
&
I also wanna see Darko Milicic succeed, his draft class was too strong for him to become a bust.I dont think hes gonna be a superstar but he should develop into a very good role player..hopefully
I used to watch Livingston play in Peoria at high school games. At the level he played against some teams, He reminded me of Kirk Hinrich when he averaged 15 a game with some assists. Also, Livingston could play 3 postions with his height cause he's 6'7.
Greg Oden and Jrue Holiday................
Greg Oden - I believe that he will be a great big man,
Just work on his post moves, and he Knows
How to finish with a dunk
Jrue Holiday - Im a sixers fan but i think he will be like
a livingston and will pan out 3 to 4 years
down the road
Jrue Holiday! hahaha especially now that everyone is hating on him.
on Rashad McCants... he's an extremely talented basketball player, who does not have the mentality to win in this league. I'm more of the opinion that UNC won because of the other 5 #1 picks on that roster, or whatever it was. Rashad shot 3s in warm-ups before games and wouldn't miss. He's ridiculously good at putting the ball in the basket. But he's not a winner.
The game I saw him play was probably his best game of the year. He was active on defense getting steals and he and Miller actually made 2 3s each that game. Everyone in the stands was like what? Rashad is trying on defense? The sad part was that we were already down by 18. we cut it to single digits but came up short.
There were two good things that McHale did when he became coach. Played Randy Foye at 2, and played Rodney Carney instead of McCants and magically we won a few games.I don't think it was a coincedence
McHale didn't do anything good for the TWolves dude everybody knows that. WTF....Carney over McCants is an absolute joke...get off the pills
McCants is not a winner? OK...he has a national championship
The TWolves didn't lose all those games because of McCants....the same goes for the Kings
Lets face it he has played for two poorly run organizations in the nba & 2 poorly coached teams so far.
McCants wasn't the reason UNC won that championship. That was Felton and May.
McCants' problem in the NBA is the same problem that caused him trouble in college - as talented as he is, he is NOT mentally or emotionally capable of keeping it together for an extended period of time. He's self-absorbed and prone to delusions of grandeur while on the court.
The trouble is he's so talented that every once in a while he can put together a game that arguably justifies those delusions to him.
He could be a great role-player, but for some reason he keeps trying to be a superstar.
Yep he is working out for the Mavs tommorow. I am not a big Dallas fan so I hope he doesn't sign there, but I want him to do well. Yeah you can't write him off just yet because he hasn't had a fair chance considering the injury, bad teams, & bad coaches. I really want him to sign with the Knicks or Bulls.
If you take McCants off that UNC team they wouldn't have won it all....so don't say it was just because of Felton & May.
yea that is the truth but mavs is a bad look for him cuz rick carlie has a short chaint unless you make big bucks barea was in and out the line up for no reason then he played alot in da playoffs!!...
Rick Carlise has a short chain unless you make big bucks? That makes absolutely no sense and in no way describes the rotation that Carlise used.
The first full month of the regular season was really the only time Barea wasn't playing much. Since he is a role player and is only 6'0" he won't be expected to play 30-35 minutes every game unless the right matchup/situation permits it.
As for the playoffs, he only played more than his regular season average in the Spurs' series. That was because of matchups. Against Denver, he was getting the 15-25 minutes he would get during the regular season.
Haha that is true...McCants needs a coach that is laid back and can tolerate his crazy behavior at times. He also needs a coach that will give him consistent minutes. You can't expect a player to succeed when you play him 30 minutes one game then 7 minutes the next...that is some of the sh*t that they did to him in Minnesota. Plus the Mavs have alot of depth at SG already between Terry, Howard will play 2guard some, Matt Carroll.
Theres too many to list so I'll just pick who I'm rooting for from this draft class... AJ Price, you have to root for someone like him, with everything he went through and overcame it... He has overcame so many obstacles so he hasn't even begun to tap into his potential... he was supposed to be a superstar coming outta high school...
Rashad McCants is def another guy I'm rooting for, hes got the flair to be a superstar but he'll never be more than a role player in the NBA, he wasn't the superstar at NC, but they needed him for that championship...
Hansbrough is going to be alot better than everyone thinks. For a kid thats done everything you can an college and he still gets no love. I say he going to succeed at this level just as in college.
Blair is going to be a dominant force in the league for some years to come. He too big and strong for must of everyone in the league. He can be a short poor mans version of Shaq.
McCants got all of the talent just needs to find the right team.
Joe Alexander
Shaun Livingston
Marcus Williams- Arizona & Spurs
Will Conroy
Spencer Hawes
Posts created naming most excitng player and player "before your time" had an overwhelming response for Pete Maravich. Rubio will never shoot like "Pistol Pete", but of those entering league in last 40 years, only Jason Williams has come close to the kind of passes made by Maravich. From the clips I've seen, Rubio is a much better passer than Williams and is a superior ballhandler. He will be a tremendously exciting player and I'm looking forward to watching him. I hope it's sooner than later. We have all speculate on how good of a player he will be. No one has questioned how much excitement he will create!
Jodie Meeks, very nice guy and has worked his butt off to be where he is.
Corey Brewer, injuries have been holding him back.
Chris Lofton, looked solid in the Orlando SL.
Adam Morrison, is he still rocking that mustache?
I agree MARAVICH44
mine are John Wall
Rubio
Motiejunas
Derrick Rose( be one of the greatest PG's and revolutionize that position)
Kevin Durant( be one of the greatest)
and for the underachievers
JJ Redick
Darko
NICK YOUNG
tkd720man said it best about McCants.
"You can't expect a player to succeed when you play him 30 minutes one game then 7 minutes the next"
I understand that completely and agree, but you know as much as I do that NBA coaches expect their players to be ready no matter how many minutes they have played in that game. Since McCants is nothing more than a role player right now, his minutes will continue to fluctuate.
sam young-completely overlooked cuz of his age, the dude is so humble quiet and hard-working its amazing nobody has mentioned him
brandon bass-love his unbelievable athleticism
romeo travis-idk if hes tryin to play in the NBA but he dominated at Akron and he played with lebron at HS, the dude is 6'8'' and can drive and shoot--should think about the league
rashad mccants-big UNC fan loved mccants game didnt like his lack of heart though
nick young-good call this kid can score
will conroy-filthy true level-headed PG
danny granger-he and durant could be the 2nd best version of kobe and lebron
Sebastian Telfair. He is a baller, but he isnt a good enough shooter to be a good starting PG. I used to like Livingston because he was tall and flashy, hope he gets all his athleticism back. And on McCants, I think he has been held back by his teams like Gatorheels said. He could hover around 20 ppg if he plays for the right coach (like EDDIE JORDAN!). He really is gifted offensively, and I've seen him defend great a couple of times when he tries.
I really want shaun livingston to succeed. i mean he had the most promising career of anybody before that horrific leg injury. id really like 4 him 2 get back to that star form he was before he got injured. Also adam morrison, jj redick, and jerryd bayless. All those guys need is a chance

I really want Shelden Williams to succeed.. what happened to him?
I thought Acie Law IV was the next Chauncey BIllups..
