I’ll take KG, Ray Ray, and Paul Pierce over the Miami trio.  There are three main reasons that stand out to me why I would pick them:

    1.  I think you need to have a good shooter on your team to space the floor and open up opportunities for drives and iso’s in the post. You got a top 5 shooter of alltime in Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce is not a slouch shooting the ball by any means.

    2.  The chemistry of the Celtics fit better.  Ray Allen is the shooter that keeps his man tired from moving off of screens all day.  Paul can do just about everything, score, rebound, and create plays.  KG in his prime was a 22+ and 13+ rebounder and a hell of a iso player in the post.  Mind you that Ray and Paul would open up the iso’s for KG because they both can consistently knock down jumpers.

    3.  KG in his prime was one of the best power forwards of the past couple decades.  He would absolutely punk Bosh with his intensity and just sheer craziness.  I think Garnett would son Bosh in other words and I think that would be the difference.

To answer your question I would take Boston in the 7 game series.

I’d take Boston. The Celtics mesh better than the Heat in terms of style of play. Plus Bosh is soft so a prime KG would make him a non factor offensively and still give him 25 on the other end.

The fact that the Big Three could possibly still take the Miami Trio in a best of seven really says something about those players.

KG. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce are all unselfish players so in thier prime this would an great team, they wouldhave more then one championship right now. Also can you imagine adding rondo to the prime 3 that would be an unstoppable team. Miami might reach thier level one day, but They have mesh togather, and actually need a playbook other then lebron, wade, bosh get the ball and shoot.

Boston Three Party hands down. They fit together better, would be monstrous defensively and KG would absolutely destroy Bosh.

Chill out about the points, man.  I’m not doing so well in that department, but I still know that I am quite beloved among NBADraft.net users.

Three years ago, the Boston trio would be able to beat the current Miami trio. Now we are talking 5-7 years ago!? Definitely the Boston trio. This is not a knock on the Miami threesome, they are great in their own right, however KG would dominate Bosh, and Pierce and James would be a stale mate possibly a slight edge to James, and Wade gets the slight upper hand, but what would put them over the top is Allen’s shooting and garnett’s D, but the Miami three are still very talented.

I know we are talking bout the heat and celtics right now but I’m wanna add the lakers into the discussion. Say the lakers have Kobe, artest, and gasol in their prime along with a healthy Bynum and the sixth man of the year off the bench. This team will be a very dominant defensive team with artest and Kobe on the wings (they can handle all the top wings in the league) and the shot-blocking force of Bynum in the paint. they have a legit inside outside game (they do now but better with a prime artest) and are good both defensively and offensively

I’d see Red Auerbach lighting a victory cigar I think!
