Predictions for tonight

Tonight is a big night for the NBA Playoffs as four teams face elimintation!

Who ya got?

Boston vs Knicks (Knicks lead 3-2)

Atlanta vs Indiana (Indiana leads 3-2)

Houston vs OKC (OKC leads 3-2)

LA Clippers vs Grizzlies (Grizzlies lead 3-2)

I'm going to give my picks based off of scenarios that could happen:

Boston vs Knicks:

Boston has the momentum right now as JR Smith and Carmelo are really struggling and it seems Boston has figured them out, but Jordan Crawford arguing with Carmelo could either frustrate Melo even more and continue to hurt the Knicks or he could have opened a can of worms and Melo dominates and NY moves onto the next round.

Atlanta vs Indiana: Each team has won all their home games, so with the way it's going it seems Atlanta will get the win tonight, but Paul George has been a animal this whole series and could put an end to Atlanta and their season tonight, but if Horford and Smith are clicking and Teague and Harris stay aggressive ATL can get the win and force a game 7.

Houston vs OKC: Every since Westbrook has been hurt OKC doesn't look the same, it went from a #1 seed vs #8 seed to a tightly played matchup, OKC can close it out tonight but Durant has to stay aggressive, he's got to understand OKC is riding his back, not Reggie Jackson or Kevin Martin's back, if he can control the game OKC will win, on the flip side Houston has won two straight and have the momentum, and Pat Bev, Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik have really stepped up to help James Harden out, and it doesn't hurt that their at home tonight either.

LA Clippers vs Grizzlies: In all honesty, I don't see how the Clips can win, ZBo and Gasol are killing them inside, and it seems as if the Clippers have given up, CP3 was the only one who looked like he had heart out there in game 5, Blake Griffin is a game time decision, but even if he plays he still won't be 100% which will make him even more of a liability against the two monsters inside, also the Grizz are at home, I don't see how the Clippers stand a chance.

My Predictions

Knicks vs. Celtics: I think the Knicks take this one. I want to see it go to 7, but I think the Knicks should adjust and play better on offense in the next game. The Knicks just have much more offensive firepower than the Celtics. I think the Celtics will hang around and make it tough, but I think the Knicks should be better on offense than they were in game 5. They should have learned their lesson that the playoffs are never easy last game.

Ind. vs Atl.: This should be a close game, as it isn't easy to clinch on the road, but I think the Pacers are the better overall team. I'm gonna go with the Pacers on this one, but I am not confident in that prediction.

OKC vs Houston: I'm picking OKC in a close one. OKC has not looked like title contenders at all in this series, but I think they should be able to play better than they have so far since Westbrook went down. I just have a feeling that OKC will find a way to get Durant going in this one. Either way, OKC is in serious trouble if they want to make the the WCF, much less the Finals.

Clippers vs. Grizzlies: I think the Grizzlies take this one. They just look like the superior team, especially if Griffin isn't good to go. Chris Paul will make it a game, but Memphis is just so much better inside that they should pull it off.

I can't honestly pick between

I can't honestly pick between these teams, as its a complete tossup. But something I find funny was that many people thought this would be a quick first round with 1-2 7 game series. The fact of the matter is now that we could have 5 of them. Very exciting first round. I'd really love to see Boston Vs Knicks and Houston vs OKC in 7 game series' because of the chance at a 0-3 comeback. Should be one of the best nights of basketball all year.

A prediction (Latin præ-,

A prediction (Latin præ-, "before," and dicere, "to say") or forecast is a statement about the way things will happen in the future, often but not always based on experience or knowledge. While there is much overlap between prediction and forecast, a prediction may be a statement that some outcome is expected, while a forecast is more specific, and may cover a range of possible outcomes.

People who post on prediction threads without posting predictions are boring.

Knicks - Melo will play bad but the Celtics will play worse.

OKC - Durant goes for 40, Harden has an off night

Memphis - Blake with an ankle injury

Indiana - Closest out of all the games tonight, but Indiana pulls away with 2 minutes to go.

Totally uncalled for. You

Totally uncalled for. You post a bunch of crap about what a prediction means, I know what it means. I said I have no prediction, but I felt like giving my opinion of the night on the thread. Don't like it? I don't care.

The Grizzlies' starters were

The Grizzlies' starters were firing on all cylinders last game. I think that we will need to rely on the bench a little bit more. The local paper was saying the same thing. Guys like Bayless, Dooling, Q-Pon, Darrell Arthur, and Ed Davis could put us over the top tonight.

Go hard or go home

Boston vs Knicks (Knicks lead 3-2)
I'm a firm believer that the Knicks living by the three has finally caught up with them. I'm also a firm believer that unlike the Heat, the Knicks don't know what to do when the shots stop falling. Boston is playing a lot of zone, the only way to break the zone is make majority of your jumpshots. Along with that Boston has pretty good perimeter defense at times. All in all the Knicks made the one mistake they wish they hadn't. They poured oil over a dying fire, and now the Celtics feel slightly more comfortable. I say boston takes this game today and the Knicks are in trouble.

Atlanta vs Indiana (Indiana leads 3-2)
This is one is more of a toss up than all the other games to me. Indiana at times looks like the better team, but the Hawks are the type of team that doesn't want to go away. I don't think the Pacers are good enough to know what it takes to crush an enemy teams spirit so I say this goes to a game seven.

Houston vs OKC (OKC leads 3-2)
Like I stated above with the Celtics, the Rockets also feel slightly more comfortable. Sadly, I think OKC already had the Rockets at their best. Kevin Durant is the second best player in the NBA for good reason. The guy carries ice water in his veins, and he is good enough to win a game for his team. I say Harden goes off, but Durant impacts the game with more than just his scoring. OKC ends the Harden rebellion tonight and advances.

LA Clippers vs Grizzlies (Grizzlies lead 3-2)
This one is tough for me, I really thought Griffin was going to finally take on that number two role underneath Paul with pride. Instead, he's had little to no improvement, and this is the second time he's had an injury that limited him in the post season. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers find a win out of this one. But I'm predicting they won't, the Grizz have the momentum and they will crush the Clippers and advance.

Boston vs Knicks (Knicks lead

Boston vs Knicks (Knicks lead 3-2)
I'm a Red Sox fan and have been for the last 12 years. That said, I want to see this upset. I'm not a Celtics fan or even a Boston fan but who doesn't want to see a team come back down 0-3? Boston is playing at home, they are veteran, savvy, and have the heart of a champion. I think the Cetlics win game 6 of a tightly contested game. Melo will take 30 shots but will end up with 30 points.

Atlanta vs Indiana (Indiana leads 3-2)
I still firmly believe Indiana is the better team and will show it tonight. They're going to play some tight defense and keep the Hawks under 90 points. It's going to be a grind-it-out game but Indiana is more prepared for that type of game. I feel it will be somewhere in the 80s

Houston vs OKC (OKC leads 3-2)
Parsons playing like the perfect 2nd option, Beverly's high level of play, Asik playing to his contract, all of the momentum, the underdog story, and at home. And it still won't be enough. Jeremy Lin will put a stop to this offense and Durant is going to demoralize our defense. I think Durant goes for 45 tonight and OKC wins by 10. Our dream has to end sometime.

LA Clippers vs Grizzlies (Grizzlies lead 3-2)
I want to see this one go 7 games. I really do. But Blake Griffin is scared out of his mind of Z-Bo (who wouldn't be?) and it has thrown him off his game. As well as the injury, of course. (Yeah, let's blame it on the injury). I think Memphis closes out what has been a great series at home. They're a tough and gritty team and have the skill/coaching to reach the Conf Finals.
