ExpoParticipantSo I hope you guys can give me a break if I mess up anywhere with this post. I just wanted to see where everyones mind is at with free agency upon us. This is a chance to let your imagination run wild. I will list a few of the players in FA and what I think will happpen to them. I will NOT list all of them so feel free to add any of your own when doing your list if you do decide to participate. Here are who I think will remain with their current team.- Paul Milsap: (Hawks)
- Brook Lopez: (Nets)
- Lebron James:(Cavs)
- Iman Shumpert:(Cavs)
- Tristan Thompson:(Cavs)
- Draymond Green:(GSW)
- DeAndre Jordan:(LAC)
- Marc Gasol:(Mem)
- Enes Kanter:(OKC)
- Lou Willaims:(Raps)
and…. here is the list of players that I think will go to another team along with the team
- Monta Ellis:(Pacers)
- Mo Williams:(Cavs)
- Jimmy Butler:(Lakers)
- J.R Smith:(Blank… No idea)
- Kevin Love:(Lakers)
- Al-Farouq Aminu: NYK)
- Greg Monroe:(NYK)
- David West:(NYK)
- Rondo:(NYK)
- Dwayne Wade:(Cavs)
- Wesley Matthews:(Mavs)
- LaMarcus Aldridge:(Spurs)
- Paul Peirce:(LAC)
- Danny Green(Mavs)
This is based on where you think each player will end up which is why I may have one team picking up many players. It doesnt mean that every player will go there but rather where I think is the best fit OR high possibility for each player
P.s This is not and original idea but me!

dbeal21ParticipantIm not 100% sure but doesnt the triangle offense use point guards that shoot and dont need the ball in their hands to make plays? Rondo sounds like the exact opposite of that which seems to make no sense for him going to NYK.

ExpoParticipantIt does require a shooting PG but I personally just saw no team willing to pick up Rondo and went to a team with room and who also makes horrible decisions.

Lotto StudParticipantKhris Middleton to either the Kings or Clippers makes sense to me. I would not be surprised if the Blazers entertained the thought as well.

machu46ParticipantMiddleton is a restricted free agent and actually wants to stay in Milwaukee. He ain’t going anywhere.
I’ll say Harris to Detroit.

dbeal21ParticipantI really doubt that the lakers and knicks will get that many guys, I can see the lakers maybe getting one good guy same with knicks, but mainly some second or third tier guys, I think Tobias will go to the Lakers, I also think Love will remain in Cleveland even though I hope he goes elsewhere. I like Mo Williams going to Cleveland. I think itll be interesting to see where Wade goes, If im him and the heat dont fork over some good money for all the money Ive save them, Im bolting elsewhere, interesting though, maybe if jimmy butler leaves chicago Dwade goes back to his hometown?

ExpoParticipantOh for sure! There is no way NYK will get all of the players that I listed. It was just where I thoought was the most likely OR best option for them. I will probably only get 1 of the NYK Free agents correct. I REALLY like the Dwade to Chicago, Never crossed my mind.

SwaggyQ3ParticipantBulls are going to match any offer that Jimmy Butler is given…cmon now. secondly, knicks are going to get that many players. I dont think they get Rondo, and recent reports have that David West is more intrested in joining a contender. I do think they sign Monroe though. I personally think Monta Ellis Signs with Denver. and DeAndre Jordan leaves.

ExpoParticipantReally appreciate you actually making a list! I must say that I’m really happy you could not figure out what to do with J.r Smith because I don’t even think anyone can. I’m also to surprised to see you agreed with Wesley to the Mavs, I figured after my Rondo pick that was the next one to get bashed.
I agree with all the players that you added to the list but Lopez.
I would also like your take on the 3 that I added.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantI really think Khris Middleton will stay in Milwaukee. I’ve also heard that Boston and Detroit have emerged as the front runners to land Tobias Harris if Orlando isn’t willing to match the offer sheet. Since Orlando picked Mario Hezonja, I think they’re preparing for future without Harris. I’d probably go with Boston over Detroit. I could see the Knicks strongly in play too if they aren’t able to get a wing such as Danny Green, Arron Afflalo, or Wes Matthews. Bismack Biyombo seems like he’d be a good back-up in Detroit, but I could see where you’re coming from with Biyombo going to Toronto. He’d be a good fit just about anywhere if he plays within himself.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIf I am the Lakers I REALLY try to make a move this year. I think they could fill out a really good front line if they get creative with money and contract terms.
Give Kevin Love a one year deal for big money. Maybe he wants the REALLY BIG MONEY starting next year. And Kobe would then go after a new contract next year if he still wants to play. Also, Kevin Durant will be out there.
I REALLY like DeAndre Jordan for them. If Kobe and Love are options 1 and 1a then DJ can just focus on rebounding and blocking shots while Russell and Clarkson will still throw him plenty of alley oops. Also with Love more of a floor stretcher than Blake Griffin, DJ would have more room to operate inside. Lakers, give the man a max five year deal.
Then go after a small forward. They should look at DeMarre Carroll. Cheaper than Jimmy Butler, and he would be a 3rd or 4th option for the Lakers. Gives them toughness, defense, and rebounding, as well as some outside shooting and a guy who can score some. He ALSO gives them a guy who can play some stretch four.
This might be the year the Lakers go ALL IN, since next year, hey, it might just be Kevin Durant as the only game changer out there… BUT, if Love only signs a 1 year deal and Kobe is a free agent, maybe they can reload and get Durant some money too. What he COULD do is sign a 1 year deal after next year, THEN signs a long term max deal after the salary cap peaks.
This Lakers starting five can compete with anybody. AND the pieces fit. Some of everything with not only shooting and scoring but also some athleticism:
PG D’Angelo Russell
SG Kobe Bryant
SF DeMarre Carroll
PF Kevin Love
C DeAndre Jordan
The 6th/7th man spots would go to Jordan Clarkson as the third guard and Julius Randle as the 3rd big man.
Keep Ryan Kelly as an 8th man stretch four.
Fill out the rest of the roster with minimum level guys and D League types: third string point guard, backup 7 footer, extra wing players.
Then next season they can try to get creative, throw a big 1 year deal at Durant, work with Kobe and Love on new deals and move DeMarre over to the 6th man role, with Clarkson and Randle filling out a top notch 8 man rotation.

Memphis MadnessParticipantLogic,
not sure how much money the Lakers have. But, I think that DeAndre Jordan would sign for less than LMA or Marc Gasol. Then DeMarre would sign for a bit less than some of the other guys on the wing like Kawhi Leonard or Jimmy Butler.
Then you have to work with Kevin Love. Tell him, hey, you will be part of Option 1/1A with Kobe. We need your scoring, shooting, rebounding, and passing. We will have DJ to protect the paint, and Russell plus Kobe to help spread the floor. See if he signs a 1 year deal with the hopes of really cashing in next summer (when Kobe’s contract ends and where he might sign some 5 year deal that pays him a few years after he plays).
I think they STILL have enough to make a run at Kevin Durant next season IF they can work it out with Love this season and next AND get Kobe to take more years instead of a steaper 1 or 2 year deal.
D’Angelo Russell, Kobe Byrant, Demarre Carroll, Kevin Love, and DeAndre Jordan screams "ideal starting five". They can contend with that group. They would still have Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle, too. They would have to get creative but I think it is doable.
They can do pick and pops with Kobe-Love or pick and rolls with Russell/Clarkson-DeAndre Jordan.

tblazer_NZParticipantSo Portland is going to loose ALL their FA and not get any back?
They have money for 2 or almost 2 Max players if LMA goes. They will get someone wanting money that is quite good.
