what free agents are going to give their teams the most bang for their buck? It doesn’t matter if they have been signed yet or not, which players do you believe will outperform their deals? Feel free to mention unsigned players and where you think they could flourish

I think kj mcdaniels has been undervalued since the ’14 draft combine. He has all the tools to be a prototypical three and d guy. I’d love for my Lakers to swoop him up regardless of whatever happens with the big names.

javale McGee has an elite nba skill; shot blocking. That’s more than you can say about a lot of the remaining free agent crop. He’s another guy in my hypothetical contingency plan for LA.

koufos is a solid throwback center that is still only 26 and if nothing else has proven to be a legitimate rotation player in the league. If he can be had for under 8 mil a yr. I think he has the ability to start on a playoff team and not be a sore thumb.

austin rivers, whom I’ve heard nothing about, began to show flashes of his potential in the post season and is still very young. I’d like to see him go to Sacramento

enes kanter would be a steal if he could be had for less than 10 mil but I don’t think there’s a chance that happens.

that aforementioned list is just off the top of my head. Don’t neg me to death for not listing the guys you’re gung ho about, I’m just trying to spark discussion. Also, if you think some of the guys who signed big deals are about to supersede their expectations, by all means tell us what ya think. If you think robin Lopez is going to turn into a max player, let’s hear why (I do not think that is going to happen, just an example)

The dramatically rising cap over the next few seasons will make many of the contracts agreed to over the past few days absolute steals as soon as the 2016/2017 season. The cap is rising 50-85% over the next couple seasons compared to the 2013/14 season. However players like Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green are receiving max deals based on the 2015/16 salary cap number (67 – 69 million). Even guys who aren’t coming off their rookie deals will prove to be quite affordable at max money, like LMA and Gasol. Obviously those eligible for extensions which start the season after next can’t be had for the same bargain (i.e. Davis & Lillard).

Based on that logic, here are some non-max players I think will be steals at their new contracts as well: Middleton, Dunleavy, Carroll, Ellis, Wright, Pierce, Ed Davis.

And here are some remaining free agents that I like:

    – Cory Joseph, RFA – Keeps improving and is still young. Plays smart and I like the fact that he’s spent a lot of time developing in the Spurs’ system.

    – Alexey Shved, UFA – Showed some promise in brief stints with both the Knicks and 76ers last season. Can likely be had for cheap.

    – David West, UFA – Still has some quality play left in him and will be a steal for whichever contender he sacrifices money to play for.

    – Kyle O’Quinn, RFA – Could be had for dirt cheap and I think he has some potential as a big who can rebound, protect the rim and shoot.

I hear biyombo may go for about 3 or 4 million perhaps brad Stevens could be the first coach to get through to him and help improve his offense and carve out a bigger role on the cheap similar to jae crowder, Evan Turner, gigi datome, and jerebko it would be interesting to see if it’s possible for him to develop any post game

I hope KJ McDaniels goes somewhere he can be in the rotation because I must say I missed the crazy highlights once he went to the Rockets.

Jeremy Lin, not much is being spoken about him. If some one gets him for 5-7 million or less they could be getting a steal. He would be playing with no expectations baring him going to the knicks or lakers. He has something to prove after what happened last year. He can still get to the hoop and make plays for his teammates. He shot 37% from three last year. He can fit in most systems if he is able to shoot 36 to 37% from three. I think he has the potential to be a great sixthman and play about 25 minutes a game for a contender if they have the money.

Could you see naval McGee signing with clippers filling that Jordan role?

Jae Crowder was a steal  on a five year 35 mil deal with the celtics. That deal already looks great to lock up one of the best wing defenders in the league, but as the cap rises it will look better and better.

Koufos will be a steal for whoever gets him. Beverley is a steal on that contract(Morey gonna Morey). And for those mentionning McGee,if an athletic 7 footer isn’t even on an nba roster, there maybe a reason why. He was hurt and he doesn’t have "one elite nba skill:shotblocking",because he’s not that good defensively overall. He’s so undisciplined, coaches want nothing to do with him.
