What are some deals you can see happening on draft night? Try and be specific as far as players/picks/cash goes.

Aside from everyone saying this is a weak draft I think the dephth is a very deep draft in my opinion and especially the center position has a ton of players to offer.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some teams trying to move up in the draft to get their hands on someone like Len or Adams if he goes early. The Cavs have 4 picks and the first one and since there is no need to trade up in the draft, I can see them make some moves on draft day. I’m still not sure who they should pick with the first pick. Porter might be a good fit but as the first pick he might not have enought upside. I see him a little bit in the Jeff Green mold, good at everything but not outstanding overall.

I could see the Wolves doing some moves as well. Finally they might be willing to trade Williams and I’m pretty sure they won’t overpay for Pek. I see them trading Williams for another vet who gives them someone at the wing or at the center spot depending of who they get with their pick.

If Orlando doesn’t get who they want in the draft, they will make moves too. The Aflalo for Bledsoe trade might still be real and time will tell if the Clippers really believe they can keep Paul. Many people believe they won’t trade Bledsoe before they know about Pauls future but maybe Paul wants to see them planning with him and trying to bring upgrades via trade to round out the roster… I really don’t know.

I can see the Sixers moving Turner after this has been rumored for a long time.

OKC has a lot of options too with their picks and I’m absolutely sure they will adress the lack of post options in the offseason and hopefully find some depth for a servicable Durant backup. They really need to find more two way players and not only offensive or defensive mindet players. I don’t think Lamb will be included in any of this possible moves. Would be interesting to know if Pleiss finally comes over this year, anyone with information about this cause this might change the way they are trying to upgrade this team!?

Atlanta has to make major decisions this year with Smith and this will play a big role in their draft dicisions.

I believe that Phoenix needs to make major roster moves to make them relevant again and they might make moves too.

Finally the Lakers and Knicks need to insert more youth and this has to start now.

The teams I’m most excited about the draft and the offseason are the Rockets, Mavs and the Jazz. Cuban will do everything whats possible to lift them back into the Wester top spots. Dwight is still an option for the Rockets and as reported they are shopping Robinson to make room for Dwight.

The Jazz might be the team who can make the biggest jump forward with a ton of cap space, a lotto pick and two of the most promising frontcourt talents in Kanter and Favors. If they can somehow bring in a All Star type of point guard talent like Holliday or even Jennings or Evens plus a good wing player like Oladipo or they trade for Turner, this team could be special for the next years to come!

I excited to see which path the Pistons are willing to go coming draft and free agency. They finally have cap space and a top pick this year. I like this team and the talent very much.

I have to say I think we will see more trades than we might expect this offseason. There are a lot of teams with cap space willing build strong young teams for the future and other teams like the Lakers, Wolves or Memphis really need to make financial decisions.

Very excited for this offseason and draft day!

Its impossible to tell, im sure there are plenty of wheeling and dealing, but to be specific as far as players/picks/cash is difficult. I think one should rather start with what teams are interested in trading on draft night and build it that way.

The only thing you can say for sure is that Phoenix is using their #57 pick in some sort off deal =)

Some teams I can see doing some trades is for example:

Portland would certainly try to do something since they got four picks they will likely do something with their three second round picks. I can see them trading it for an established player or a higher pick maybe late 1 round or something. I don’t know but surely the wont be picking four rookies this upcoming draft. Or else the will stash some players, cause it makes no sense to pick players without them thinking they could make the team.

Cavs, even though i think they will stand path and just make the first pick themself since i dont think anyone is enamored enough by the pick to shell out the kind of assets required for them to part with it. But i think they can trade the other picks 19 31 33, I think someone is greatly interested in the couple first second round picks. So i think we will see some kind of deal with the cavs.

I also think it is possible that we can see teams moving a couple spots up to nag a special player, for example i think every team with assets has the ability to acquire a mid lottery pick if the are in love with a player, and some teams are sure to be willing to move a couple spots for mutual benefit. Since it is not to much difference with picking from high-mid lottery to late lottery and even to the lower 1 round i think we will see quite a lot of trades, but its impossible to tell with any certainty.

While I agree with most that this is a weak draft as far a stars, I think there are plenty of players that could be excellent role players. I think Cleveland, Atlanta, and Utah (teams with multiple picks and money) will be active on draft night.
