I know their have already been alot of these post. But i wanted to make one dedicated to some trade ideas.

My first idea is Send Devin Harris and C.J. Miles to Charlotte for D.J. Augustin and Diop. I dont know how interested they’d be in Harris. The dynamics might change, and we might throw in a 1st rounder also. The main point is we get our pg, and the get to hand the rains overs to Kemba.

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7dpeark

I know people like him going to L.A. But the really dont have anyone we want or need. We dont want Ebanks or Morris or one of there late first rounders. Also I really like the idea of getting Kendal Marshall threw the draft. That might be in the cards as well.

I really want too get a point guard throught the draft, hopefully that pans out.  Kendall Marshall, Myck Kabongo, Marquis Teague or Tony Wroten, who do you think they should get?

This is one of my favorite ideas as a possible destination for Harris. (I had already previously thought of this trade before you posted this). I like it because Utah gets a young point that they really need. This draft is not particularly strong in PG’s and most of the elite are a little undersized for Jazz’s standards (6’3 or taller, most of the elite one’s are 6’1 or smaller) Marshall does meet the size requirement and the passing requirement but fails miserably in the shooting, defense, and athletic skill requirement. Also the Jazz might not even get a draft pick this year with how good they are playing, their pick will likely go to the Wolves, and the Warriors are not doing so well, which means it is very likely they could keep their pick because it could be in the top 7. (Thats where its at right now. Warriors would get the 6th pick, and if you look Holliger’s playoff probabilities on ESPN, he believes the Warriors would be tied with the Nets for the 7th and 8th picks at the end of the season. Again likely the pick stays with the Warriors.) The Jazz could very well end up with only a second round pick!

So the Jazz would need to get a young PG right now either through a trade or a trade on draft day. Augustin fits the billing, he may not have the size requirement or the defense requirement, but that’s all he lacks. He has everything else. Size is a small part of that, most of league is going towards the smaller PG’s so maybe 6’1 isn’t so bad of a size for the Jazz’s point guard. He may not be good at defense, but Jazz are doing great at defense right now, and he can learn, he’s willing to learn, we already know about his leadership qualities. Jazz could also use Diop as a mentor for Kanter. I’m not saying Diop is better than Kanter by any means, I’m just saying that he’s better defensively (Which he is), so Utah could use him to teach Kanter some defense. (He might not get much playing time but nor does Tinsley yet he is still an important mentor to Burks and Hayward) Utah may loose Miles, but with Burks progessing so well, Miles is beginning to fall out of the rotation. (He’s only been do so well recently because Howard has been injured, and so he was playing Howard’s role as the backup SF. Howard will likely be back tonight agaist Toronto so once again Miles’ role will diminish)

I’m not quite sure if Charlotte likes the idea of having Harris mentor Walker, but I think they would like getting CJ. They are currently using a 3 guard lineup with Augustin playing the 2, (before he was injured of course, I expect them to use that same lineup once he returns) and Henderson at the 3. This of course makes them undersized at the 3 position. Miles can play both the 3 and the 2 and he’s bigger than Henderson (6’6). So with Miles they can still use that 3 guard lineup that they seem to like so much and they won’t be undersized at the 3 because of it. Harris is more of a 2 guard because of the fact that he’s a good scorer yet not so good as a passer. So, Miles and Harris should work for Charlotte. Yes, they lose Diop who is a good back up to Mullens but that’s what they have Biyombo for.

@lisergx, please look at my post above, Utah may not get a draft pick this year! But if they do, than I would like them to go for Myck Kabongo. He may not fit the size requirement or the shooting requirement but he’s not a horrible shooter, he has good form, he just needs to make more shots. He has the leadership qualities, he has the passing requirement, he has the athletic requirement, and he has the defensive requirement. So he fits everything else except for size and shooting. Size like I stated in my previous post is okay, shooting can improve because of two reasons, one his willingness to learn and improve his shot and two the fact that Utah has Jeff Hornacek as an assistant coach. He can teach Kabongo how to be a better shooter.

I have also recently thought of Tony Wroten. He posseses all of these requirements, I’m just not quite so sure if he’s more of a SG or if he’s more of a PG. If he’s more of a SG then might hinder Burks’ development, but if he’s more of a PG then he’s perfect and an even better candidate than Kabongo, because he meets every requirement, while Kabongo is only lacking in shooting and size. But again this all goes out of consideration if Utah does not get a draft pick at all which right now is very likely.

well hopefully we do get one pick, cause it would suck if the Jazz tradition of all star point guards stopped.

We’d all cry a river for Utah if they had to go a year or two without an All-Star point guard. Anyways, I think the two teams that need (and would be willing to take on the salary) Harris the most are the two with the least to give up: Lakers and Knicks. Talk about two rosters full of straight up garbage exept for Melo, Amare, Chandler, Bynum, Gasol, and Kobe. Plus neither has good picks or cap room.

I recall reading that there was a limit to how many years of draft picks a team could trade out of, but I don’t remember the number.

Perhaps Utah could trade Harris straight up for 2-3 draft picks and be done with it.  The Knicks pick will probably be in the upper teens, which is a place where @ least one of (Marshall, Wroten, Kabongo, Teague) are likely to be available.  And if they’re not available, this draft will have other very high quality options available in that range.  Trade Harris for one of the Knicks unwanted players (on a short-term contract) + first round picks in 2012 & 13?

That said, I like the DJ trade idea as well.  It’s probably something that would look good for Charlotte right now too, as CJ has been a very good player on both sides of the floor over the last 3-4 games.  It’s all about what Charlotte sees in Kemba.  If they view Kemba as the definite 1 going forward, DJ will probably become available soon.  DJ is undersized for a 1.  Using him as the 2 doesn’t seem likely long-term.

The Knicks cant trade their pick this year or next so thats out… I dont think the Jazz can trade Harris, he is still owed $8.5m after this year and he is playing poorly right now. From reading these posts, there seems to be a large bridge between Jazz fan ‘s perception as to his value, how he is playing, and what non-Jazz fans think of him. Can’t make a deal if you can’t agree on the value of an asset…
