I’ve seen quite a bit of discussion on porzingis getting traded and what his trade value is. A lot of people think Boston would be a fit because of their #1 pick but would the knicks go for a trade with the sixers? Knicks get #3 pick, saric, and okafor and sixers get porzingis #8 and maybe kuzminskas or another player to make salaries match. Would either team go for this?

No way the Knicks do this deal. Porzingis is a rising star in this league and he has two cheap years left. Philly would have to give up the 3rd pick, Okafor, and another asset (think the Kings 2019 pick or Lakers 2018 pick) at minimum to make a trade for Porzingis. Even then, the Knicks might still not make the deal. The hardest thing to get is that first star to build around, so why would the Knicks deal him unless he tries to force his way out?

Boston makes the most sense. Their big hole is at the 5, and trading their two brooklyn picks should be enough given that the drafts seems to be very strong. Putting Porzingis on the team as it is right now would be pretty lethal. Or, they could look to trade away IT instead, and keep one of those picks. IT, this years #1, a decent young player and a couple of late first rounders could turn Jacksons eye

I know Okafor has been injured but he is still 21 and 3rd pick in 2015, he has great low post skills and can be a very good player in the league and a potential double double 20/10 guy as his ceiling. Porzingis has a higer ceiling and more star potential but people are acting like Okafor is complete trash and a complete bust like Anthony Bennett just throwing him into trade deals like his nothing #put some respeck on  his name

That’s why I thought of him for this trade because he can be the man down low plus the knicks get to draft fox who I think will be a stud in the league he’s just a bad fit for philly. Only issue is if he isn’t a super star then, as mentioned above, your trading a star for 3 very good players but stars win rings not supporting players.

LOL!  And 76er fans say Laker fans are unrealistic!??!

I’m sorry boys but the 76ers have all but crushed what little trade value Okafor had.

       Correction.

Lakers fans are Delusional. Yes Lakers fans are also unrealistic but DELUSIONAL, is a better description.

The 76ers would have to offer 3rd pick, Okafor and either Saric or another pick to interest the Knicks. Okafor would be a decent fit in the triangle and with 3rd pick the Knicks could take Fox or Jackson and still have nice options with 7th pick.

The 76ers own 2018 Lakers pick and 2019 Sac-Town pick plus all their own first rounders and ironically 4 Knicks 2nd rounders over the next few years. So they can probably put about the best deal outside of Boston to the Knicks.

I think you’re right. Okafor would kill in the triangle. Josh Jackson is a also a total Phil Jackson player. The only thing missing is flipping the 8th pick for D’Angelo Russell (who would do well in the triangle when limited by Phil). It’d actually give them a start to a developmenting team.

Getting Russell all depends on who goes 2nd overall IMO, If the go Ball(as predicted) then the Lakers can move him if they draft a forward though then it is less likely Russell gets moved…

However Trading Russell is a hard call do you take a pick in this draft and maybe a future pick(top 3 protected) for him or Try involve him in the speculated P.G or Butler Trades?

Because trading a 2nd overall pick for a 8th pick is sort of a taking a loss + a little early to give up on him as worst case you can turn him into a 6th man if he buys in….

I could see 8th overall maybe getting someone like a Ricky Rubio or someone of that level maybe

I think they need to give up Embiid or simmons for NY to agree to this deal,

You’re a lunatic. Simmons and Embiid have a chance to be franchise changing players. Porzingis is good but nowhere near that level. A lot of it comes with the NY hype machine too. If he played for Utah, no one would care.

I’m not saying this would happen, all im syaing is Phil wouldn’t agree to trading porzingis if their tlak didn’t include such franchise changing player with high updisde, you know will, he’s full of ego

Knick management – ok, "management" – has done their best to alienate Porzingis.  But they still know his value and I don’t see them dealing him primarily for picks.  That’s too hard to sell.

To flip him for an established player might be easier as teams would love Porz on his rookie deal and upside instead of an established guy on over $20 million as it would immediately give them cap space too.

I still wonder if any teams come knocking whether Kniccks might try to move Melo too. Melo would need to waive his no trade clause so it may only be Boston who’d be in a position to execute this type of deal.

I want nothing to do with Porzingis. I’d rather make the Fultz deal.

Why in the world would the Knicks trade Porzingis while hes on his rookie contract? You guys buy into the media tabloids way too much.
