bull it's inevitable. Im

bull it's inevitable. Im gonna be pissed. Last time they did it 1999, they came to a deal and then tried to throw a season together at the last minute. 50 games in like 80 days. Half the league was out of shape. People were figuring out plays and how to play on the fly. The knicks were the 8th seed and went to the finals becasue it wasnt enough time to figure out who was good or not.

Owners vs players

Its all owners vs players. Owners say they arent making a profit. David Stern said the league lost 370 billions dollars last year... Billy Hunter disputes those numbers. I wouldnt be surprised if the league went to a hard cap. Which Im not sure if that would be good for the league or not. The NHL has a hard cap, and its worked for them for the last few years.

Wrong Sport

If any major sport needs to have a lockout it's MLB. They seriously need to fix their cap. Not fair that Indians can only spend 50 million while Yankees can spend over 200 million.

has to be typo. they lost 370

has to be typo. they lost 370 billion? LMAO Even the worst case scenarios are teams losing about 10-30 million. And there are some teams that make a solid profit.

Yea, that's a typo. It's 370

Yea, that's a typo. It's 370 million.

I think Billy Hunter is being stubborn. I think it's hard to deny losses when there's a significant level of volatility affecting the economic climate.

hard for me to feel too bad

hard for me to feel too bad for the nba and the owners when is see some of these deals going out there this summer. If there are some changes, i htink they need to be minimal. I bet the owners dont even want a hard cap. They might say that, but lets see how they feel as soon as they cant get the players they want during the off season. Rookie contracts dont need to be adjusted at all. Maybe some small adjustments so the owners make a little more money. I dont think owners should be in the red each year nor do i like to see 4 or 5 teams sold in the last 24 months. Regardless though, if there is a lcokout, screw both sides.

you think they would come to

you think they would come to some sort of an agreement even if both sides didnt get EXACTLY what they wanted...nobody wants this not the fans nor the players the owners need to stop paying average players massive amounts of money...i guarantee sam presti isn't losing a profit

keep in mind, when either

keep in mind, when either side says this lockout is likely to happen this far in advance, its mostly just to posture and make the other side believe they are playing hardball. So expect to hear a lot of this for the next year, but take it with a grain of salt, becasue when push comes to shove, neither side wants to lose money or fans.
