Tezo had me thinking about this when he said that he doesn’t really agree with most of the things Chris Webber says… I look up to athletes and guys in the NBA as people who says the right things and the right words… Even in simple interviews, most of the guys would just say lines like ” It’s all about working hard… compete…” “We gotta play to win…” etc and other stuffs like that… Normally I would nod my head of all those statements… Sometimes even compliments on other players out there saying “He’s going to be a great player..” Or “He’s so athletic…” etc…

My question is, of all the players or commentators out there, who do you usually disagree with?

I have to go with LeBron James on this one… I used to admire him stating how “mature” he is but right now, everything seems blurry with all these crazy comments he has made…

First, I disagree on ‘Bron when he said, he “spoiled” the fans after that embarrassing Game 5 loss against the C’s in the 2010 East semis… Spoiling the fans is what great players do… Kobe, Michael, Magic, Bird, Dr. J… Those guys spoil their fans because they have the talent to bring their A game night in and night out and at the same time give fans a show… and of course get the “W”…

Second, I disagree on his defense on your “unsportsmanlike” attitude in not shaking anybody’s hands or conducting any interview after their loss to the Magic in 2009 East Finals… Saying he’s a “winner not a poor sport” but isn’t shaking someone’s hand a poor sport? I remember how Detroit didn’t shake hands with the Bulls after being swept in the 1991 East Finals yet when Jordan got his ass-whooped 3 seasons prior, he would bitterly shake hands with Dumars and those Bad Boys… Kobe got his butt whipped in 2008 by Boston but he still shook hands… It’s a sign that the game of basketball is a game and when it is over, friends can be friends just like a Prosecutor and a Defense Attorney who battles hard in the court but can always go get a cup of coffee after that…

Third, everything LeBron said in “The Decision”… I have no problem with him making his decision to take his talents to South Beach… That’s his choice to make… But everything he said after that, stating MOST especially, that he’s a “loyal” person is pretty ugly in my eyes… How can you be loyal when you “just” embarassed the Cavs into defecting from them ON LIVE TV?! and the way he mentioned himself in third person was weird…

Fourth, ‘Bron and his puppet master Maverick Carter decided to blame “race” as a factor on why critics crucified him on what he did… Heck, I would say this, should Larry Bird have played in this era and he decided to leave Boston doing the same thing that LeBron did… He would still get shot that’s why I don’t understand why “race” has got to do anything about why people are throwing stones at him…

Actually, there are lot of quotes that I disagree with but in the list that I recalled, LeBron James had the most number of eyebrow shrugging statements that I generally disagree with… I like what I see in LeBron as an athlete and a basketball player but his ego which is the source of all his quotes and statements makes it difficult for me to at least respect him as a person.

Yeah LeBron has said some really stupid stuff lately, really the race stuff, but wait until the season starts and his play will do the talking. Since it is the off season, he has to talk to stay in the limelight, and we all know that is what LeBron wants, the light to be on him.

Why was the race stuff so stupid?  It was his own honest opinion, if that’s what he thinks, then that’s what he thinks.

This is why I like Durant more than Lebron. Durant says all the right things, is a flat out star, but is more worried about his team than himself. Not selfish at all, and so humble. The perfect personality traits for the star that he is. Him and Dwill are my favorite players in the NBA.

Don’t you think Durant is playing off the Lebron stuff a little bit. I’m sure he’s a great guy, but it seems like he is making a concerted effort to come off as humble and the perfect team player.

I don’t agree with Webber either, but it’s funny to watch him and, Kenny or Barkley argue.  Webber, to me, seems like one of those old jocks who tries to relate everything back to what he did and argue points to simply bring up how good he was.  Most of the time I shake my head at what he says, but crack up when he and Kenny or Barkley go at each other.  Makes for good TV i guess.
