Players who could flourish with new scenery

Derrick Favors

Aaron Gordon

Zach LaVine

D'Angelo Russell

Kristaps Porzingas

While all these players have had a good amount of success thus far in their careers. I feel like all of them could continue to excel in this league if it weren't for being the odd man out in a stacked roster or just being in a toxic environment the gears towards a losing culture

I don't see Porz going

I don't see Porz going anywhere soo. Favors is an FA in 2018 so he could well be available if the right offer came in, a lot would depend on what Hayward does this summer. Gordon is still on his rookie deal and can be renewed this summer, again a lot of teams might look at him and Magic may well consider the right offer.

LaVine is out at the moment so until he returns we don't know what Minny might consider doing with him. Russell I noticed was put to the bench recently and if the Lakers did want to bring an established player in via a trade then he could be used as bait. But with a lot of good backcourters in this years draft and a number of top FAs this summer, Russell may not have the sort of attraction the Lakers might think he has.

I'd add Brook Lopez to the list, putting up 20ppg again this year on the worse team in the NBA, he will be an FA in 2018 and will be 30 then so is likely to want to be on a contender. The Nets need to rebuild and it would make sense to cash in on their main asset before he possibly moves via FA and they lose him for nothing.

Yeah Porzingas is locked in

Yeah Porzingas is locked in for a while. Knicks are just toxic though. Might do better if Melo leaves. Russell is the one that intrigues me the most though. Most might disagree, but I think the only thing really keeping him from having a career track along the lines of Harden is a winning culture.

Favors is better off at center. Aaron Gordon could elevate the stretch 4 position with the right coach and a better 3 pt shot, which is coming along. Lavine's injury might take a toll, but the dude has so much talent offensively and his touches arent as many as he deserves with Wiggins and KAT. And Lopez would be great for a contender.

When Favors and Kanter were

When Favors and Kanter were in tandem it was said they couldn't play together as neither could defend the perimeter so Marvin Williams was preferred as the starting PF as he was a better perimeter defender. But with Gobert now as the defensive anchor, I haven't heard much about Favors perimeter defending. I could see him possibly benefitting from a move and with his contract running down then Utah may well consider offers to save it being a Noel type situation whereby the return was negligible.

Russell at the Lakers is on a losing team but he has a lot of proven winners in and around the team. MVP is certainly someone who would big him up and try to get him playing with a swagger.

Favours

Probably because if Favours gets beat on the perimeter the Stifle Tower is there to save him. Gobert is able to paper over any cracks a defence may have. He's a defensive force of nature!

Favors would be great in

Favors would be great in Boston. Let Horford move to his desired 4 spot and hound guards in the pick & roll. Favors can stay close to the rim and help clean up their rebounding woes.
