with all these comparisons about perry and anthony, do you see pj3 as a "legit version of randolph", like a winningest randolph?

for his career randolph is getting around 18p-10r-2a-2b-3to per 36 mins

which it would be, right around what pj3 could put up if he develops into what we all want to see.

so, can pj3 develop in to a better version of randolph?… putting right around those numbers with a similar style of play…

Well, anybody that averages 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks at 36 mins of playing time, should be a borderline NBA all star, BUT, Randolph is not playing that long, maybe for his bad attitude, poor work ethic and inconsistent play, or just plain bad luck, a bit of everything i guess.

So its hard to compare to a player on per minute basis, specially if he doesnt play many minutes, He doesnt play that much for a reason, all coaches he had can not be wrong.

He has some good games when given minutes but has one of the worst body languages of any player (He makes faces like he has intestinal constipation) and sometimes lacks desire, he is a bit of a tweener with average handle to play SF and not enough post moves and strenght to justify his presence on the block.

Perry on the other hand reminds me more of Rudy Gay in terms of raw Athleticism, only time will tell if the Baylor system hindered his production. I am really high on Perry, i think he will be a tall SF not a PF, he needs to tight his handle and get a consistent midrange game.with a guy with this potential it all depends on him working hard, he is a guy with a difficult past, i think he will have success in the end.

"Randolph is not playing that long, maybe for his bad attitude, poor work ethic and inconsistent play"

.. and terrible defense, i know. (he gets blocks but he gets lost a lot and averages like 4.5 fouled per 36 mins.)

and i think he’ll play like randolph instead of rudy gay -"hoop mixtape" hype. i see him as a hybrid 4 as opposed to a legit 3 imho.

so what im saying is, pj3 a better attitude, better work ethic, more consistent randolph ?

i see PJ3 closer to a Darius Miles mold than i do in Anthony Randolph. tall long player with a good handle for his size and very athletic. dont think his court vission is at miles level though and would be closer to randolph, but i dont see his help side defense in Randolph’s league and thats the main aspect about randolph’s game that strikes me first when i think of him. randolph to me is more likely shoot from the perimeter where as PJ3 would more of attack of the dribble using his ball handling abilities. both players play above the rim and their game depend on that and their length a ton, but i see Jones turning into a longer Boris Diaw(phoenix/atlanta days) who miles could have been before he got that contract from the blazers and his career down hill with injuries and such.

I didn’t watch many Baylor games, but I did see him having a good second half against Kentucky.  His stats are solid and he was a blue chipper coming out of high school.  I don’t remember how high Anthony Randolph was on the HS prospects list but I don’t remember it being as high as Perry Jones.

PJIII could turn into a 6’11 small forward and with his potential and athleticism that would be hard to pass up.

I know that Kevin Durant’s college career was light years ahead of Jones’s, but KD had the green light and I am not sure if PJIII was put in the best position to shine (i.e., as a high scoring wing player and not an inside guy).

I think his game might be better suited for the NBA, where long, athletic types can get out and run and get more offense run for them.

Is that PJIII while slight…still weighs like 20 more pounds than Randolph did when he entered the draft. I have no idea what Randolph weighs now. Additionally, while they both have character flaws/concerns, their flaws seem to be diametrically opposed. Randolph is accused of having a bad attitude and being a selfish player, where PJIII is accused of not dominating as much as he should given his athleticism and talent.

I have no idea what position is best for PJIII… He probably won’t be playing Center like he did in college…I dont really see him guarding players on the perimeter though. Personally, I think his poor D is a bigger concern than his motor.
