P.J. Hairston suspended indefinitely

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/9631057/north-caro...

SALISBURY, N.C. -- North Carolina leading scorer P.J. Hairston has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of speeding and an unsafe movement violation after being cited for reckless driving in July.

Rowan County District Judge Kevin Eddinger accepted the plea Tuesday for driving 75 mph in a 65 mph zone from attorney T. Gregory Jones. Hairston, who didn't attend the hearing, was required to pay a $40 fine and court costs.

Hairston was cited for driving 93 mph on Interstate 85 on July 28. The school indefinitely suspended the basketball star hours later.

It was the third off-court misstep this offseason for the junior, who was twice cited in a month while driving a rental vehicle linked to a felon. He was driving a car registered to a friend when cited in July.

Grammar Lesson

Should the story, "pled guilty" rather than "pleaded guility?" This is nit picking, but this is from ESPN.

PJ is at the least, an idiot.

PJ is at the least, an idiot. When you come back to school, you usually want to work on your game, improve your draft stock and have sex with some hot college coeds for good measure. Mr. Hairston felt it would be better to drink and drive, ride around in vehicles rented by convicted felons and do 93 in a 65 zone. He has cost himself millions and his draft stock has no doubt plummeted. I along with all the other Carolina fans have no clue how many games he will be suspended for. He will be back this year and I expect him to be good, but I don't think he gets drafted in the first round when he comes out next year.

Can you link an article that

Can you link an article that says he was caught drinking and driving? He'd have bigger issues and would be facing a longer suspension if that were the case. His possession and driving without a license charges were dropped after he presented that he had a valid license and passed a drug screen. So basically his "legal" problems amount to speeding tickets.
He has some judgement issues but none that I see would cause him to fall to the 2nd if he's indeed a surefire first round talent.

Vehicles rented by convicted felons

You do realize that's a direct NCAA violation, the fact that he's always caught driving a rental vehicle given him by a booster? I love how that aspect of all this keeps being ignored.

This was the wrong off season

This was the wrong off season for him to lose his image.. Aaron Hernandez..... Mike Beasley.... Scouts will be looking into these things. He needs to shape up

My impression

Is that scouts see him as another Gilbert Arenas. Most teams wont want anything to do with him at ANY draft spot.

P.J. Hairston's friends are costing him a lot of money. I wonder if he even realizes it. He needs to focus on his future, while he still has one.

Comparing Beasley and

Mentioning Beasley and Hairston with Aaron Hernandez is a little strong.
