Stuckey hopefully can work out a sign and trade with Detroit. Brandon Knight needs the green light. I think Detroit should make a bid for Billups if he gets amnestied and they are under the cap(Rip Buyout).

The people who need a combo guard dont have anything that the pistons want. So knowing Joey D they’re going to get stuck with some bad contract or something they dont need, they need to try and use him and charlie v in a trade for a expiring deal or a center

"The Pistons today announced the signing of first-round pick Brandon Knight and second-round pick Vernon Macklin. The team also signed four free agents: center Jake Voskuhl, guard Kareem Rush, guard Walker Russell Jr. and forward Brian Hamilton."

I see 5 teams that could have a fit for Stuckey that could give Detroit back something they could use. Some need combo guards while most would soley use him as a 2 guard as he can play that position.

    1) Atlant- Could be used to fill the void of Jamal backing up both the 1 and 2 spots, or he could start at the 2 with Johnson at the 3. Atlant could trade Marvin back to Detroit where he could play power forward mostly and he still has potential.

    2) Milwaukee- Be used as a starting 2 guard as Jackson can play the 3, they need another starting wing. In return Detroit can get a backup pg or a guy who can start until Knight is ready in Udrih or Livingston.

    3) Toronto- They also need another wing and Stuckey could play the 2 while DeRozan moves down to the 3 as he can. Toronto can trade them Amir Johnson as they don’t need anymore power forwards in Toronto and Detroit needs big men…

    4) Minnesota- Another team that could use a 2 guard, and could see some time behind Rubio/Ridnour at point. Detroit could take back Webster who can play both wing positions for them and is a solid player. This also frees up more room for all of the Wolves’ small forwards.

    5) Phoenix- I know they just got Shannon Brown, but if you put 2 combo guards together you get a full point guard and a full shooting guard, right? Detroit could take their choice of Childress or Warrick back as they could use them both.

Stuckey needs to be able to shoot the 3 before he can be considered a quality starter

    1. Detroit doesnt need a small forward; resigned Prince and Jerebko, and have Austin Daye

    2. Udrih would be great if his contract was expiring

    3. Amir is a power forward they need a center. Toronto has Derozan, Calderon, Bayless, and Barbosa and trading there starting power forward (current depth according to espn) for a guy who wont play much is a bad idea

    4. Webster is a good fit because they have a hole at 2 with rip leaving and his contract has a team option

    5. Only thing worse than Childress is his contract. Warrick is a power forward, they need a center

Well just to let you know what I was thinking to see if we can get on the same page. For most of these I figured that Monroe would end up playing center, which he can do, it’s not ideal, but its going to happen with their current roster anyways. I was figuring Marvin would play the 4 beside Monroe and play spot minutes at the 3 as they have atleast 3 guys who already play the small forward position. I see both Amir and Warrick playing beside Monroe as the frontcourt, and Amir actually plays pretty big. And maybe Stuckey learnt how to shoot a 3 ball, but I don’t think it is mandatory, just look at DeRozan, he ain’t got a 3 ball in his repetoire but it helps when your center shoots 3s lol.

Pistons have Ben Gordon, not really a "hole at 2". Will Bynum and Knight can play in the backcourt together. Detroit needs a great wing defender for the 2. Tayshaun is more of a 3/stretch 4 perimeter defender. Indiana has a lot of solid wing defenders, but we all know how much Detroit fans hate Indiana fans. Paul George, Dahntay Jones, Brandon Rush are all possible. I don’t think Stuckey has the value to get George but something could involve those 2.
