The Pistons should trade the 9th pick, Stuckey, and Austin Daye, for the 6th pick

That’s a lot to give up to just move up 3 spots

I assume you would want them to take Drummond then? I would definitely like that pick for them but it does seem like a lot to give up even though I’m not a huge fan of either daye or stuckey.

I was a huge Stuckey critic before this year.  He couldn’t shoot and was becoming a distraction.  But when he moved to the 2 and Knight was running the point, Stuckey flourished.  He’s still young so I think that’s alot to give up to move up 3 spots.

Stuckey is a reasonably valuable asset because of his ability to play both guard spots… I think you’re undervaluing him

Stuckey can hit 3’s now he’s legit. Daye on the other hand can’t. I’m pretty sick of him now but alas I think his value plummeted with this terrible season. I’d feel real good about trading Daye and both our second rounders to get a late first rounder. I really like Moe Harkless.

I doubt the Pistons would trade Stuckey to move up three spots and as of right now Austin Daye has questionablle worth. I’m not sure if that’s a bad sign for him since the Pistons still have Tayshaun Prince starting at the small forward or if he just needs a chance.

Probably the best thing for Detroit to do is move down or move out of the first round completely and make a team take the contract of Charlie V or Ben Gordon.

lets not get carried away…stuckey still can NOT shoot 3’s….austin daye on the other hand can but can’t do anything else.  but like @taylorcondrin mentioned, stuckey can play both guard positions.  Besides that he can take it to the hoop and put pressure on the defense, draw fouls and hes a good free throw shooter.  He meshes well with knight cuz brandon can shoot 3’s.  Its a solid backgcourt, specially if knight continues to develop.  I personally feel knight is going to be an all star down the road.  Monroe will get even better, especially if theres a big next to him that can defend the rim and block shots and rebound.  So they should get a big.  I think if somehow theres some bad drafting by teams ahead of the pistons like there was the last 2 years (golden state picking udoh and sacramento trading their pick instead of drafting Knight) and the pistons can draft Drummond…thatd be a perfect fit next to Monroe.  Drummond might be a bust on the wrong team, but cuz Monroe can be a 20-10 guy, Drummond can be the defensive presence they need.

Pistons are alot better than their record showed.  Take out the 1st 24 games and they are at 500.  All that being said…its too early to trade stuckey now.  Its funny a year ago, it seemed he had to go, now we gotta give this backcourt a shot cuz they were very productive.
