early candidates…http://bleacherreport.com/articles/724102-nba-rumors-latest-trade-rumors-free-agent-buzz-and-nba-draft-predictions/entry/91399-nba-rumors-who-will-replace-fired-detroit-pistons-coach-john-kuester….being that most of my family is from the D, Ive been a PISTONS fan 4 as long as I can remember….I also have ties with NY and really think MARK JACKSON would make a good coach….I would not mind it at all if the Pistons gave him a shot….even if he fails, its not like Pistons have had a good run of coaches these past couple seasons(not sure why they let RICK CARLISLE go after he did a great job for them)…I could see him now in practice…preaching defense….telling the team…."MAN DOWN….HAND DOWN!!!"

My top two choices are still Lawrence Frank and Mike Woodson. I’m thinking longterm, and both are proven winners and not as old as some of the other candidates like Rick Adelman are. Just my opinion.

I’d take JACKSON if VAN GUNDY would come along 4 the ride and be an assistant…LOL…not that that would ever happen.

The available candidates don’t inspire me much at all.

I don’t think Woodson is a very good coach. I think his teams mostly underachieved in Atlanta. But it’s sounding like he’s the current favorite to land the job. I’m not totally against it, but I can’t call it a great hire.

Laimbeer is an absolute NO to me. Too many fans continue to romanticize the ‘Bad Boys’ era and it’s members. I thihnk he could eventually be a good coach, but he needs more experience and a different city. Let the whole ‘Bad Boy’ thing go. It was a long time ago…

Little Lawrence Frank …. I don’t think he’s all that bad, I just don’t like him. Never have. Just looks like a whiny little punk kid.

Marc Jackson had better not be the selection. After Michael Curry and John Kuester, we’d better not go with another first year head coach. Get an assistant job. Prove yourself. Don’t think he just deserve a shot at it. He’s better in his current job than he would be as a coach IMO.

Rick Adelman. My favorite choice by a long shot. He’s got the respect that our previous coaches didn’t and I would LOVE to see him work with Greg Monroe. Adelman would come in with an established system. No time wasted tinkering and trying out how to act like an HC. No self doubts and second guessing that the unexperienced candidates would surely face. (like Kuester and his 1,500 different starting lineups…) And with the possibility of a shortened season due to the whole CBA, I want experience. Also, with all the youth (Monroe, Daye, Jonas, White, Stuck and this years 3 draft picks) I want that experience. We need a commanding voice from a coach that has been around the block a few times.

i see exactly why they hired Kuester, but felt it was the right time to bring in laimbeer.

he is a perfect fit, and would get the time to grow this team because detroit community would fully

    support this decision.

I think the best choice would be Marc Iavaroni!

He is a defensive minded coach who deserves another shot!, and his hard work attitude would be a great fit in D-Town

Laimbeer has won 2 or 3 championships as a WNBA head coach.  As a player he has been an all-star and lead the league in rebounding – not bad for someone who can barely jump a few inches off the ground….

He is mentally tough, knows how to rebound and play defence and was a great, unselfish team mate.  He was a mentor last season to Kevin Love and as no surprise Love ended up being the leading rebounder…

Bill would be a great coach………
