Pretty simple, you are an NBA GM. Pick a starting 5. You can choose from anyone in the league besides the top tier superstars.
Please exclude the following players: (ESPN Top 10) LeBron, KD, Rose, CP3, Curry, Kyrie, Howard, Westbrook, Harden, Gasol.
As a GM you surely want to be thinking about the present and winning now but you also want to be thinking about the future. The players you pick, you will have for the next 6 years.
Try to build a team that would win the most games (and Championships) over the next 6 years. Try to keep team chemistry, how these players would gel on the court together and how they compliment each others game.
Also, you only get 1 MAX contract (please indicate).
Future MAX players (projected for this scenario): Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis, Hibbert, Wall, Cousins, Kobe, LA, Love, Horford, Parker, Griffin, Melo, Bosh, Rondo, Lopez (be somewhat realistic if I missed anyone).
My Team:
PG: Jrue Holiday
SG: Klay Thompson
SF: Jimmy Butler
PF: Anthony Davis (max)
C: Derrick Favors
Defense wins championships. This team is athletic, has terrific size, two rim protectors and two terrific perimeter defenders. Building my future around Anthony Davis. Thompson is one of the top shooters in the game along with Holiday and Butler who are also improving deep threats. Would feature an inside-out game with the two bigs surrounded by shooters. Also have toughness with Butler and Favors. Each player is an above average rebounder as well.

Is Kawhi Leonard really a future max player? I’m asking out of straight curiosity…Yes he’s solid as a role player on the Spurs but what have you guys all seen out of him that would insinuate he’s worth a max contract?
