The Sixers have picks 35, 37, 47, 58, and 60 in the second round. Who are some guys you think they should consider with these picks. I’d like them to look at:

35 & 37: Cliff Alexander, Rakeem Christmas, Olivier Hanlan, Chris McCullough, Jordan Mickey, and Jarell Martin.

47: Dakari Johnson, JP Tokoto, Pat Connaughton, and Andrew Harrison.

58 & 60: Aaron Harrison, Robert Upshaw, Quinn Cook, and anyone above who falls.

I think they should be looking for a big who can come off the bench who’s game varries from Embid and Noel’s and guard’s. Taking a few players at the same position isn’t a bad idea for them because they can try them all out to get a feel for one or two that could actually stick.

Tyler Harvey, and if the kid from Oregon is on the board at 35 — gotta take him. He’s going to be a nice player

Good call, I should have included Joseph Young in that first group of players.

If they don’t package some of these picks (which I think they should), then I think players like Hanlan, Alexander, Tokoto, Wood, or Young in the earlier part of the round.  Then later in the round I think they need multiple draft and stash guys to keep for the future.  Can’t have 6 rookies on the roster this year.

Last year’s roster was made up of 5 1st round picks, 5 2nd round picks, and 5 undrafted players.

Love Alexander, Connaughton, and either one of the character issue guys if they slip, Wood and Upshaw. Hate the Harrison Twins. Think the last slot would be a great time to take Will Cummings from Temple.

Dude can flat out shoot it. He was really good on a good Florida team where he wasnt forced to make his own shots. Kevin Pelton projects him to analytically be the best shooter in the draft, and we all know this team needs shooting and he could be a steal in the second round.

Tyler Harvey also should definetly get a shot from this team, i know he put up points against lower competition, but the dude can score and has some PG skills. I think with the right environment he could become a real scorer off the bench.

    Really hoping for these two

There;s a rumor going around that the Sixers will trade 2 of them, 35 &37, to the Blazers for #23.

I’ve seen a ton of both the ACC and Pac-12. I really like Hanlon. He’s a decent shooter that could get even better (he had to score as much as possible on that horrendous BC team). Joe Young is another guy that had to score a lot, but I think if he had a role of just a role player off the bench, he could add a lot.

I personally think we’ll move two of these picks and the Thunder pick to move into the 18-30 range, probably take one or two guys that can help a little and a stash-type European.

I wouldn’t mind a couple of Big 10 seniors at the end of the 2nd round.

Travis Trice is a clutch player who seems like he will be a really good backup PG in the NBA. They definitely need shooting and Trice has that as well as toughness which is always something you want from a bacukup PG. Aaron White is another guy I could see being in the league for a while.

He always seemed to be making plays when I turned on an Iowa game the last couple years. He doesn’t do anything spectacularly but he is a versatile defender who could give good energy off the bench.

Speaking of Big 10 seniors…I’m usually not crazy about them with a few exceptions. A guy that came out in the 2014, Brandon Paul is a guy I love. He then went and destroyed the D-League. There’s a guy that should get a real shot in the summer league and hopefully training camp. Kind of reminds me of Wes Matthews when he was in college.

I think Aaron White is similar to Spencer Hawes. He can shoot a little bit, but sometimes he falls in love with the outside shot.

If D.J. Newbill could shoot, he would be a much better prospect. He gets to the basket whenever he wants.
