Embiid + Simmons + Okafor + Noel + Saric + 2 first round picks this year and owning the Lakers pick.

    Russell + Randle + Clarkson + Ingram.

Sixers have three 5’s, and two 4s in Simmons and Saric.

LA does have a 1, 2, 3, and 4, in defined roles.  But none of these guys, except maybe Ingram, will be top 5 at their position in 5 years.

    who would you rather be?

     Lakers.

Young talent is proably equal right now, so Im comparing future draft picks vs big market appeal and unlimited cash.

So I gotta go with the Lakers. Once theyre on the verge of contending, Stars will come and LA will spend whatever it takes. Salary Cap means nothing to them.

The lure of LA is still strong. Players want to go there….IF (big if!) they can be competitive. And the NBA wants nothing more than LA to get that Hollywood vibe back…so you got that on your side too.

Philly is always just gonna be just Philly. Lakers have a lot more ‘chips in them yet.

Yeah no team has the draw that the Lakers hold and even after a few down years I’m sure players still want to wear Lakers gold and purple. If Ben Simmons reaches anywhere near his potential though I can imagine players flocking to the 76ers in a few years to play with him.

I heard derozen is all but a forgone conclusion in LA this summer. Add him to the mix and they have something worth watching.

In terms of pure talent…I can see D-Russ being a top 5 player in the league. Especially if you put talent around him. He’s got a wetter and high IQ passing.

Lakers have money and probably free agents, and a coach who is popular.  76ers have better assets, players and picks.

History says Lakers start winning a lot sooner, although they missed on Aldridge and others a year ago so maybe things are changing.  Probably not.

A coin flip decision, both teams have good players and some annoying ones, hard to pick, OKC winning should mean Durant and later Westbrook don’t go to LA, maybe I will choose 76ers.

Or did you mean you see D-Russ being a top 5 players on the Lakers? ……..but I don’t agree w/ that either….. I wouldn’t take D’Russ fi you Begged me……

This guy could Not even start at his Natural PG position on that Garbage 17 win LA team……

I’m gonna assume Embiid will be healthy since we’re Clearly assuming A lot here….. & Phila has 3 – 1st round picks this year……

They will likely have 2 top 10 picks next year (Sacramento swap & Lakers pick) I think they may Possibly have 3…… but I am Sure they have at least 2 – 1st round picks in 2017, 18 & 19……

That’s why I don’t like them trading too many Prospects……… B/c they have So many picks…… & I LUV that they have Colangelo now…….

I luv the Lakers getting Ingram & like (not luv Randle) – I like Clarkson but I do NOT like Russell at all….. I did not like him coming out of college b/c he was just Way too immature…… I think last year was just the beginning of bad times w/ this kid……..

& if the Lakers lose their pick in next year’s Super deep – & if they most likely will that is going to hurt badly……

now if the Lakers trade the #2 pick for an established star player & then sign another star that changes Everything…… but as of right now I’ll go w/ the Sixers…… & it’s not really close…..

Well the OP said top 5 at his position so maybe that’s what he meant. IMO Russell will be a top 5 SG within 5 years (it is one of the weakest positions league wide).

Whether we lose our pick to Phila in 2017 or 2018 – we Are going to lose it…… So we have One 1st round pick between the 2017 & 2018 Drafts…….

I like Ingram but he is Not Kevin Durant……… Ingram is a 17 ppg scorer & he does Not have this explosive 1st step that KD has always possessed…… I wish I was wrong but I just do Not see Ingram at that level…… I still like the kid A Lot….. but he is No KD 2.0…………….

D’Angelo Russell’s nick name in LA is D’Angelo "Bustell"…… besides being incredibly immature he’s a PG not a SG & could Not start at PG for a 17 win Lakers team b/c he can’t guard Anyone & he’s a turn-over machine w/ the ball in his hands……..

What people neglected bring up this time last year when we all yelled Russell’s lack of "Elite athleticism" was "No Big Deal" ……………b/c Steph isn’t an elite athlete either……. is that Russell has Terrible Agility which means his footwork is AWFUL…… Steph Curry has World Class agility…… Agility is your ability to control your own body & Especially your footwork under pressure……. I have Never seen a Top 2 or 3 pick w/ Worse footwork than Russell…… he is almost clumsy & often trips himself up b/c he gets his feet tangled……. Footwork is Under rated but Critical to success in EVERY major sport……. As a result Russell was basically a spot up jump shooter…….

& he has a decent shoot – But no where Near a Steph Curry – & no where near Great….. Russell shot 41% FG% & 35% from 3….. That’s No Where close to the Rookie stats of Curry OR Klay Thompson….. who were Both over 41% from 3 pt range as Rookies……

I like Clarkson & I like Ingram & Randle is a decent pro but he’s the type of guy Every team needs to grab rebounds & do dirty work….. but he’s 6’9” w/ T-Rex arms in a league where PF’s are 6’10”+ w/ long arms & explosive athleticism……..

DeRozan would be a GIGANTIC upgrade…… but Toronto is the #2 team in the East behind Cleveland……. & the Raptors can pay DeRozan 20% More than any other team b/c of the "Larry Bird Rule"….. why would an All Star player Leave a winning squad that made the Conference Finals to lose 60x a year for LESS $$$……

Which brings me to our REAL problem…….. Mitch K & Jim Buss……. If you look back at Dr. Jerry Buss’ moves when he bought the team in the late 70’s when the Lakers were a lousy team just treading water…….. you would be Amazed at how he used trades & bold decision to acquire pics that turned into Magic & James Worthy & Kareem……

I don’t see ANY of that ability in the people running our team now…… It’s almost like their long term plan is that they are going to just tell players – "hey we ar the Lakers & we are Supposed to win to you should come here…"…….. The sales pitch to Aldridge was absolutely Laughable b/c it illustrated just how unprepared Micth K & Jim Buss truly are…….

Let me put it this way if the Lakers had Noel, Okafor, Embiid, Saric, Simmons, the #24 & #26 picks…… Plus 2 Lottery picks in 2017 & 2 – 1st round picks in 2018 & 2019…… That is a Ton of ammunition to make moves…..

& the Sixers had Clarkson, Russell, Randle, Ingram & only 1 – 1st round pick in the next TWO drafts…… would ANYONE really say that they would pick the 2nd choice there…….. We’re ALL biased b/c we’re used to laughing at Phila b/c of Hinkie……

Well Hinkie is gone & even though Colangelo isn’t Pat Riley……. I’d take him over what we got in the front office……… & Phila has So much Size & Athleticism & So many High 1st round Draft Picks…….. It’s almost Dummy Proof for a Real GM – which Colangelo Is…….

Apologies for the Novel but I needed to vent…… this team is breaking my heart….. I want to be excited but I have Zero confidence in our Front Office……..

I’ll take Philly over the Lakers. They have more raw talent future assets a rich history and are in the weaker conference. Ben Simmons is going to be great in the NBA the game will open up perfectly for him. His shot is broken but he still shot about 70% from the FT line. For a 6’10 230-240 big man I would obviously expect improvement yet with optimism.  Jahlil Okafor has one of the better post games the league has ever seen from a 20 year old and Embiid if healthy has as much raw talent as any big man in the league on both ends of the floor. The Lakers do have some talent but it seems like B-/B+ talents.
