Philly the favorite in the East now?

Jrue

Nickay

Turner

Young

Bynum

Jrich

Hawes

Kwame

Wright

Remember they were the best defense in the NBA last year so Collins was doing something right with them and now a lot more offensive weapons, defensive ability about the same, the starting lineup is so young you could expect a lot of progression from them, but having Bynum really elevates them so much on offense.

Not Yet

Nobody to guard Lebron, Carmello, Joe Johnson, Danny Granger/Paul George, Monta Ellis and Paul Pierce who will all get 50 each time they play us however, we took a step. Not to mention there is no one on the Sixers that can take over a game in the 4th quarter. Add a piece or two and we are in there good thing about having everyone on 2 year contracts. Show and prove or be on the move ....

Turner is one of the best

Turner is one of the best defenders in the league, the other guys are ok, who is going to guard Paul George lol. I guess they are going to start Spencer Hawes at the 4 that seems a little goofy, but I guess Young used to coming off the bench.

Too small to brawl

He isn't strong enough to guard any of the ones I just mentioned and that is just in the East. Kobe and Durrant eyes will light up like Christmas when they play the Sixers. I would have gotten rid of Iggy too but you have allot of sf in the east that can score and you need someone that can play them as well as get the benefit of some of the calls. By the way how many steals and block shots is Turner avg 0.3 blks and .6 steals ...you drinking the koolaid...lol

This team got a whole lot

This team got a whole lot better with Andrew Bynum but Miami is still the favorites of the east with the big 3 and Ray Allen and rashard Lewis on board. Evan Turner is not one of the best defenders in the league he's above average the Sixers gained a great talent in Bynum but now they have no lockdown defender or veteran leadership with iggy gone.(their oldest player is Kwame Brown yikes!)

We are a lot better with

We are a lot better with Bynum, however, we aren't on Miami's level.

I think right now we are just below a healthy Chicago, and we will still have cap space next year to bring in some more free agents. We could make a play for Harden, Ibaka, or Millsap as well.

Things are looking bright for the Sixers after a fun playoff run last year.

I think they were fighting

I think they were fighting for a 6-8 playoff spot, now they should be fighting for a 4-6 spot in the "strong" east...

You think this is better than

You think this is better than Miami?

Jrue - Nice PG but still not All-Star Level

Nickay - Someone who shoots way too much and does not know what an Assist is

Turner - Young but so far dissapointing No 2 Pick

Young - A solid Nba starter but not really sure if he is a SF or PF

Bynum - 2nd best Center in the NBA but with a history of injuries and mental errors

Jrich - Solid rotation player but overpaid

Hawes - Young developing Center who still has some upside

Kwame - Worst No 1 pick of this decade

Wright - Maybe okay as a late rotation player

Come on you got some nice players and the Bynum deal gave your team some nice upside. But how can you think you are the favorite to win the East???

I think they could finish as

I think they could finish as high as the second seed. Miami has 1 locked. Boston will be resting players some nights. Indiana and Brooklyn will be eyeing up 2 as well. Basically, it's Miami and everyone else as far as seeding. Boston I think is the only legit chance of beating Miami in a series. Maybe Philly and Indy but they are still young and may need another year or 2 before they are true threats.

Give them credit though

They are now a top seed. Definately not #1 - that's just rediculous. But going from a likely playoff team, to a solid top 4 with one trade is pretty impressive. Can't blame a Phili fan for being a little overexcited here.

I wouldn't overlook the

I wouldn't overlook the acquisition of J Rich either. He gives them a good spot up shooter. Overpaid? Yes but I think for this team he could be very good. Plus I think they get better shots with Bynum down low. Like I said and others have, this should be a top 4 or 5 team in the east. Miami is the favorite by far though.

East race got better

Let the season play out. Miami is still the favorite to come out of the east, however with the new look 76's along with the Nets , Boston , Ind , Knicks and Chi ( if Rose gets back early enough ) , the east has become alot more exciting !

The Atlantic is STACKED!

There is an outside chance the entire Atlantic division could make the playoffs. With Bynum in Philly all this scenario requires is the Raptors sneeking into 8th, which is definately possible / not probable / but very possible.

Philly needs to make a couple

Philly needs to make a couple more moves to build their team better around Bynum but they are on the right track. They should try and make a move for Millsap/Josh Smith. They should keep Bynum, Holliday and Turner and try and move everybody else. They can move guys like: Wright, Thad Young, Lavoy Allen, Moultrie, Nick Young and Hawes in trades. They need a Starting Caliber PF and a SF that can defend. Josh Smith and Millsap are both available. Any chance the 76ers could get them? If the 76ers can get one of the two and get a defensive 3 while keeping a useful bench they can definately make some noise. I feel like Bynum would be the biggest mismatch for the Miami Heat. Hes a better low post scorer than Dwight and can really hurt them. THe 76ers are still a few years from contending but they can pull a pacers on them.

I like the Milsap idea but

I like the Milsap idea but don't know who we have that Utah would want. We need a starting caliber PF and backup PG.

Dwight Howard wouldn't have

Dwight Howard wouldn't have made the sixers the favorite in the east so I am not sure how Bynum would do that. I honestly think this is more of a lateral move because the Sixers did need help rebounding and now have a low post presence but they gave up their best defender and a guy who was amazing running the floor which is what the Sixers love to do. I see them winning a few more regular season games but really in the end they will most likely only win one playoff series again.

I hope they go out & sign

I hope they go out & sign Kenyon Martin, they could use his toughness and body to guard some of those premiere small forwards...If Bynum can stay healthy, its going to be fun seeing the numbers he might put up as the 1st option....

I just thought about Shaq's 1st game back in LA after getting traded..And Shaq shoveling Bynum ..I wonder will Bynum try to tempt Howard into a fight..
