ChoppyParticipantJust read on ESPN that Phil Jackson has left the Knicks! This is huge for Carmelo and Porzingis’ future and for the use of the triangle. I think they’ll play more to the strengths of their players in the pick and roll now he’s gone. Although how does Frank N fit now? Thoughts?

nath09ParticipantThe upside is the head coach gets to be the head coach instead of the secretary of coaching. Hopefully Hornacek (for his sake) is the man for the job. There was a lot of talk about how the Knicks couldn’t attract free agents with Jackson there but I think that goes double for coaching. I’m not dismissing Hornacek as a good coach, we are about to find that out; but, they were nver going to have a top coach with strong self belief in his own methods and ideas come to the Knicks with Jackson there banging on about the triangle.
Taking a look back at the last 15 years all the on court mediocrity totally stems from their front office mediocrity. Maybe they need to recruit and spend more wisely off the court before they even begin to think about how they spend the money on the court.

tblazer_NZParticipantShould have canned him before the draft and got Dennis Smith.

CynthiaParticipantAgreed, for the longest time I had the Knicks picking Smith, it just made more sense and he’s most likely the better player. But once I found out that Phil had a hard-on for Frank I switched my pick.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantDoesn’t matter. As long as Dolan is involved the Knicks are going to be dysfunctional.

joe2324Participantyou know your in trouble when Dolan sort of looks like the hero in getting rid of Phil. Dolan is the most incompentent owner in all of sports. Knick fans deserve better
