avikeshParticipantWanted to know what you guys thought. I’m a sixers fan and I’m DYING for Iggy to be gone. Thought this deal makes a ton of sense for both teams, and I’d love to see it happen.

Beasly would be a nice fit at the 3 for the sixers. Some say he’s a tweener, but last year he played the 3 full time in Minnesota and put up some nice number. He offers nice perimeter shooting and is athletic. With Doug’s coaching, I believe his athleticism could be used to make him an effective defender. At the end of the season with the Timberwolves, Anthony Randolph put up some very nice numbers. He’s skinny, but with added weight and his monster athleticism, I think he could develop into our full time 4 after Brand’s contract runs out. Also, in this deal, we get some cap relief.
For the wolves, they are in desperate need of veterans and defense. Iggy brings both. They also have a lot more young guys they could use as trade chips to get more vets, and make a core of Iggy, Love, and Rubio. Possibly deal Derrick Williams to Indiana for Danny Granger. I think that’s a definite possibility.

iguapops420ParticipantThrow in Motie’s draft rights and it’s possible, but I doubt it. Iggy wants to go to a contender if traded. My hope is he’s in LAL when the season starts.(pipe I’m sure)

mds0549ParticipantMake it happen because Iggy and Don Nelson would completely change that team and Iggy would give them someone to play on both ends of the floor. Rubio, Iggy, Williams, Love and Darko sounds pretty fun in a up tempo style.

iguapops420ParticipantIMO, Iggy needs the ball in his hands too much to mesh with Rubio who also ppays best with the ball in his hands while neither are really very good shooters. Could be a fun team to watch though.

Chilbert arenasParticipant"Rubio, Iggy, Williams, Love and Darko sounds pretty fun in a up tempo style. " That doesn’t sound very fast to me. You would need Rubio, Johnson, Iggy, then Williams at 4 and Love at 5 in order to push the tempo.

river09Participanttrading iggy to the wolves has been a pretty popular idea for months now.. but i don’t see the wolves organization jumping to the possibility.. I feel as if they are more inclined to wait around with the talent they have (which could mesh beautifully) to develop by itself… unless the wolves are offered something spectacular i don’t see them doing anything… I know they have a huge gap at SG but there are plenty of free agents around this summer they could sign AND keep the talent they have…

mds0549ParticipantUp tempo doesn’t mean that everyone has to be undersized and run like Carl Lewis. Love at the 5 would be a bad idea. He can start a fast break with his rebounding and passing skills

The t-wolves don’t have motie’s draft rights. Those got traded to houston.

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantI wouldn’t do this deal. Iggy needs to have the ball in his hands to be effective, and it wouldn’t mesh with the run and gun style the wolves want. The wolves want Rubio to run the point, and I think they envision having a Suns style team like with Nash and Amare, surrounded with shooters. Iggy isn’t a marksman, so he wouldn’t fit in this style.

blink3ebfanParticipantHere’s my proposal, The Sixers trade Iguodala and Speights for Kamen and Minnesotas pick next year.
I think this is the ideal move for both teams. Iggy would be the perfect complimentary piece for that team. He could handle the ball and allow Mo Williams and Gordon to get open shots on the perimiter while also slashing and creating easy dunks for Blake. His athletism and defense would be a welcome addition as well. Him going to the Clippers would make them a legitimate contender in the coming years. The addition of Speights is merely for big man depth behind Blake and Deandre Jordan. They could hold onto the pick and hope that the player they get is the answer and fits well with the team or they could take the sure thing and insure that they are contenders for the forseeable future. The team would be good to great on both sides of the ball and be incredibly fun to watch, probably even more so than their Staples Center cohorts.
The sixers on the other hand get a center, who when healthy is a pretty solid player. Im not as high on Kamen as most but he is a solid big. This would open the way for Evan Turner and Jrue Holiday to really establish themselves as well as open up some more touchs for Young. The biggest reason why this trade would be great for the sixers is the Minnesota pick. The sixers have a lot of good young players but don’t have that superstar player. Next years draft looks to have couple of those potential players and Minnesota still looks to be a cellar dweller next year. The sixers could make the leap from a middle of the pack team to a contender if they can get one of the young incoming studs. Otherwise they are going to be stuck in limbo for a long time as their young players rookie contracts expire and they are forced to pay them. Moving Iguodala gives them the freedom to stop this cycle of perpetual meiodcrity.

avikeshParticipantI’d take your deal over mine in a SECOND, but I don’t think the clips are letting go of that pick. If they did, however, I’d pull the trigger on that deal in a second

blink3ebfanParticipantYa I could understand them wanting to hold onto that pick but I think since they already have their star player, getting a player like Iggy would be perfect. They could hope the future pick is what takes them to the next level or they could take the sure thing that would elevate them to a legitimate contender immediately

Up tempo doesn’t mean you have to be undersized, you’re right, but it does require athletes and Darko and Love are not the fastest quickest front court. Love can rebound and ignite the fast break with his outlet passing, but how does Darko fit into that equation?
