Ryan Lochte

A lot has been made about the Ryan Lochte's grill at the Olympics on TV, and Playbook has tracked down hip hop star Paul Wall, who helped create the now-famous look. The Houston rapper, who worked a recent mixtape with DJ Drama and now is working with DJ Whoo Kid, is one of the pioneers of the expensive mouthware.

What was your reaction when you saw his smile on TV?

"Awesome. Incredible. Amazing. I felt very patriotic. I felt like I was part of the Olympics."

Did he tell you he was going to show them off?

"I kind of assumed he would do that. He has done it before. This now is the fourth set of grills we've made him. One in 2007, one in 2009, 2011 and now 2012. This is what he does. I assumed he was going to do it. I didn't think it would be this big of a deal, but it is. He didn't mention it to me beforehand."

How long did it take for you to create it?

"It took about two weeks. It's all hand crafted and the gold is set in our workshop in Houston. It's me and TV Johnny doing it."

Think grills are making a resurgence?

"I definitely think there will be. He is putting the spotlight back on it. He's reminding people about them. For some up-and-coming rappers, they already are returning. Big Sean. French Montana. Meek Mill. And we're doing something with 2 Chainz and Chris Brown."

I understand that you're going to give a free gold grill to any Olympic winner?

"We've been so pumped up by this. With all the hype of this grill, we want to get our patriotic on. We want to share the offer to any Olympian. We want to give them that gold grill."

Now how much was the one you did for Lochte?

"Well, the cost can go up to about $25,000 for that kind. We didn't charge him that. We gave him an Olympic discount. We have got to take care of him."

Cleveland Frontcourt – The Cavaliers stomped the New York Knicks 98-64 and while they didn’t put in many minutes, the duo of Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller were impressive. Thompson, playing in his first summer league after last year’s lockout, scored 13 points on 5-7 shooting in just over 12 minutes. Rookie Zeller had 12 while hitting four of seven shots, for 12 in just 12 1/2 minutes. Luke Harangody was strong off the bench with 12 points on 5-7 shooting in 17 1/2 minutes. The regular season version of the Cavaliers is heavily reliant on the youth movement with both Thompson and Zeller integral parts of the team’s future.

“I can’t put it into words,” Green told HOOPSWORLD of the Celtics’ first preseason game, a 97-91 loss to Fenerbahçe in Istanbul on Oct. 5. “Just to be able to step foot back out on the basketball floor, at the time, it was the least of my worries, but to be able to come back and play again, it’s a blessing and I’m very, very thankful.”tg33434

“Yeah, no team can discover a mismatch to our team,” Green said. “No matter if it’s me, Brandon (Bass), Kris Joseph, KG. We have guys who can play multiple positions, Courtney (Lee), and we can match with any team. So, it works to the best of our abilities to put a lineup out there that can guard anybody.”guj5656

The Houston Rockets tied up

The Houston Rockets tied up one more piece of unfinished business on Saturday night, trading disgruntled Kevin Martin to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a deal that landed James Harden in Houston. The Rockets also send Jeremy Lamb and future draft considerations to Oklahoma City. The Thunder also send Cole Aldrich, Daequan Cook and Lazar Hayward to Houston in the trade.

“So a lot of players listen to me when I say something. I always tell a joke about it to the young guys, ‘You know what? It’s going to get better. Let’s just get better.’ If we’re talking and we’re about to go shoot, I’ll just say, ‘Let’s get better,’ and at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about… There are 150 kids who get drafted and they’re good. They’re going to be ready to take your spot, so if you can’t improve as a player, you’re going to be lost in the wind.”

“Just being here with an Indiana Pacers jersey, it’s unbelievable,” Green said. “This is a really good fit for me; everybody is still young, we’re a playoff team, and I couldn’t be in a better place. Indiana is the home state of basketball and this organization is trying to change its image.6875785
