FuzzyonoParticipantPosted this in another thread but what do people think about Paul Millsap fitting in with Cleveland?
Cleveland Receives: Millsap
Atlanta Receives: Waiters and Bennett
You could probably throw a few other small peices or draft picks in there to make it more even depending on who you think its getting the better deal. Millsap is a very solid stretch 4 and an ideal third scoring option. Only has 1 year left on his contract at a very reasonable price (9.5 mil). Cleveland can decide whether they want to resign him in the future, or with all the cap space coming off the books next year they could go after another big free agent in 2015.
Lineup for Cleveland:
PG: Irving SG: Wiggins SF: James PF: Millsap C: Varejao
Bench: Thompson, Allen, Birdman, Delladova, Miller
Atlanta gets two young players with a ton of Potential. Waiters takes the 2 spot, move Korver to the 3. Bennett is practically a younger/poormans Millsap and you also have Adrien Payne as well.
Lineup for Atlanta:
PG: Teague SG:Waiters SF: Korver/Carroll PF: Bennett/Payne C: Horford
Seems like a win/win for both sides. Thoughts?

festar35ParticipantIf Love isn’t an option I think it is a nice fit for Cleveland and they would keep Wiggins.

maybe for 1 of those two or for Thompson, but they are not willing to trade more than 1 of them and picks for Love, so definitely not for Millsap.

RUN TMCParticipantso you are saying a 1st overall and a 4th overall in the last 3 years for a undersized pf that was drafted 47th 8 years ago? this cleveland trade sh!t is getting out of hand!

ProudGrandpaParticipantYes, because Bennett totally plays like a typical #1 overall pick and Millsap plays like a typical #57 pick…

gbmantisParticipantBennett + 1st rounder would be fair. If I was Cleveland I would hang onto Bennett and see what he can do now that he’s in shape. I’m expecting a big year from him.

ExumInfernoParticipantI will say it is an idea that makes sense, LeBron would like someone more ready than Bennett and Atlanta could be better with Horford at power forward. The Hawks also have Antic, Payne and others to play in Millsap’s spot.
The Miami first roudner plus Bennett, and any small filler pieces for salary reasons, for Millsap might work.
If it was Waiters and Bennett, maybe Millsap and Jenkins as well could go to Cavs.
one reason why Atlnta might look to move Millsap is his contract, it could be expiring and the Hawks may not want to overpay to keep him in the future. They did draft Payne and he can do a lot of what Millsap does, but at a lower price. Money is important to Atlanta, as the trade with Toronto for the Salmons’ contract showed.

domeico7ParticipantI think Cavs are looking to spread the floor, I don’t think Millsap is the right guy for that.
