Woj reported this morning that "Eight months after breaking his leg in a USA basketball scrimmage, Paul George will return to the Indiana Pacers lineup on Sunday."

George tweeted out his return as well: twitter.com/yg_trece

Congrats to him for making it all the way back. I understand how tough it is fighting back from basketball injuries, but I can’t imagine how difficult it was returning this quickly from such a severe injury.

To be honest.. Its only been 7-8 months. I dont understand this at all. I know he wants to get out there, but he has to learn from KD and D Rose.  Wish him the best

I think sometimes you just have to play when your cleared to and feel like you can. Look at DRose sitting out two years, and still getting hurt. He is getting his feet wet and doubts out of the back of his head for next season early.

Also Paul George injury was a clean leg brake not a jointed area like a knee or foot. It isn’t sever as those.

I second this.  As long as the break heals, there should be no ill effects.  Knee’s are different.  You can alter your gait, which puts strain on other parts of your legs, resulting in further Knee/Ankle/Foot/Hip/Back injuries.

In reality we don’t know what this will result in, I’m just excited to see him back and am really happy for him.

It he couldn’t play he wouldn’t have been cleared, whether it this season or next i was always waiting in anticipation.

He had nothing to gain by sitting out further, now he can shake off some rust and if they can sneak into the post-season then even better.

He’s sort of the forgotten man of the NBA right now as a guy who was mentioned with Lebron, KD early last season.

Here’s hoping he comes back strong.

I can understand people saying Paul should wait until next season but if he can get a few games under his belt he can get the psychological barrier of playing again out of the way and there will be no big media hype come next season about him playing again.

The Pacers also have a shot at 8th seed so he probably feels he wants to help. Also having him back will lidt the team and the fans so even if he is only a role player to begin with, his presence might be worth that bit extra to push them into the play offs. If they end up out of the play off hunt, I’d guess he’ll be shut down immediately.

They have said he’ll only play 10 to 15 minutes on Sunday and they will be watching his reaction to playing and recovery. Also they will know a lot more when he plays back to back games and see how he comes out.

Whatever happens it’s great to see him returning and I hope he comes back sound and next season we see the old Paul George again.

I watched the game a bit,and he looked pretty good, especially his shot. People saying" he should till he’s ready" that was the case one month ago. He’s damn ready ,he’s been practicing for a month already. He also made some very good plays on defense. Very encouraging.

He looked sharp on offence and the team won, so good return for all concerned. The Pacers organisation will look to build his minutes up gradually I assume but they won’t play him stupid minutes even in a play off game.

I was at the game and PG looked good. Especially defensively. His explosiveness clearly isn’t there yet, but he moved around really well at both ends. He trusted his leg. I think that everybody in the arena was surprised at just how good he looked.

I think the timing of his return was perfect on so many levels… For him, the Pacers and the city.
