Helo1324ParticipantGuy just posted 30pts, 9rbs, 5ast, 5 stl and a block……SEVEN 3 pointers ! Talk about a coming out party. This guy is still just 21 and apparently grew over the summer standing at 6’9-6’10…..could he approach elite status ? We are talking about a guy quickly developing a killer offensive game that also plays close to elite defense as well…..scary

IndianaBasketballParticipantThere was JUST a thread on this…
George is starting to get more aggressive, which means GREAT things for the Pacers. I mean, he just gave it to the Mavericks tonight.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantyeah he is ELITE. me and my brother jus got done sayin they should look to trade Granger now, bcuz Lance is giving them good minutes as well. Granger for another big might be good to backup Hibbs.. Granger for Kaman woulda worked, but Kaman off the block. But Paul is nice, reminds me of T Mac alil

Helo1324ParticipantSorry, I didn’t catch it. This might be a bit premature….but IMO if he continues his climb…..he has the ability to be a top 5 player in the league..I like his work ethic and he just seems to have that "look" about him…..a focused demeanor….exciting

Helo1324ParticipantI disagree on the trade Granger front…..I mean I understand the logic….but I don’t want to screw with the chemistry this group has…..I do think that we could use another back-up big that can PF/C (Kaman, Jordan Hill, Jason Thompson?) and a sharpshooter off the bench (Morrow?) I cant see trading Granger though….he is part of the reason PG has room to explode like tonight.

Here’s what everyone thinks about his since 2 days ago. I doubt some opinions have changed since then.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhy would the Pacers trade Granger right now? Just because? Just so they can play all of the young players and the team would be cooler?
George is getting better, but he isn’t ready. Granger is a proven player in the NBA and is still very good.

Helo1324ParticipantIn all honesty I hope Indiana just plays the cap room card to absorb a player(s) from a team w/ luxury tax woes or help facilitate a trade…..the only players Im really ok with moving are maybe an AJ Price, Pendergraph or MAYBE Amundson…….I just really like the dynamic we have right now on our bench being able to throw so many different angles at opponents and as I said earlier the chemistry thing is paramount to our success…..we have it.

festar35ParticipantThe reason the Pacers would look to trade Granger is if they were haviing problems with George at SG. I think it’s pretty obvious that he is more than comfortable at SG and Granger can continue to be productive at SF.

torontoraptors10ParticipantIn the off season the Pacers should do a sign and trade, Granger for Eric Gordon. What do you guys think?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/04/2012 - 8:49am #632035
festar35ParticipantWell both George and Granger tend to be able to stay healthier than Gordon and the chemistry between the 2 is already there, so at THIS point I would honestly say no.

rileymcshea3ParticipantYeah why trade Granger???
They could have a huge size advantage in he playoffs.Plus its not like George cant play sg,he had 7 3s ..its look like he is capable of playing sg to me

Chilbert arenasParticipantPaul George did not grow, he was just incorrectly listed by NBA standards (which means hight in shoes rounded up). They just had him listed at his actual height.

Mr. ChicagoParticipantThere are numerous news sources that have confirmed Paul George growing two inches, here are some examples:
http://www.indystar.com/article/20111215/SPORTS04/112150368/Pacers-George-still-growing
Also, as a Bulls fan, I would love if they traded Granger … however, I agree I would not break this team up as they are really starting to come together, and they will have a lot of flexibility in the off season. Larry Bird definitely has something good going in Indiana.

EuroBallParticipantThe Pacers have two legit wing players. Granger is an legit elite small forward. Paul George is athletic enough to guard the 2 guards in the NBA. Early in the season (Pacers vs Raptors) the length effect of George on the DeRozan showed Demar lack of improvement from last season. George should receive the most improve player. Why? No one has shown the improvement paul has shown season long. Paul has come a long way, this site has always been high on his potential and his recent play has shown the Fresno st player was the real deal. The Pacers have a solid team and when the playoffs come around we will see this team real identity.

JNixonParticipantIf George shoots the ball well and improves his handle more he can be a very nice starter. I’ve always liked his athleticism, physical tools and length on the wing, and he’s always shown potential as a scorer and shooter, he just needs more polish and work with it. He really will show flashes of being a real smooth, explosive scorer sometimes and its usually when he’s hitting his shots in rhythm. He’s already a promising defender too because of his length and athletic ability, he needs some work there as well in nterms of just being aware and more savvy, but I think George can really be a solid 17 ppg scorer in time, something like a lite version of Rudy Gay . He is oozing with potential on both ends of th floor.

OhCanada-ParticipantSlow down now. Paul George a Top 5 Player in the league? So who will he be better then Durant, Wade, Lebron, Howard, or Bryant? Not to mention the great PG’s Rose, Paul, Williams, Westbrook, Rondo, Irving, the great PF’s Love, Griffin, Aldridge, Nowitzki, Bosh, Studemire, I man wll he even be better then JJ , Granger, frickin Deng, or what? To say he has Top 5 potential is like slapping these players in the face with ur johnson. Yes I said Johnson.
If George becomes a Top 5 wing in the league at some time in his career Pacer fans can be much more then happy with his growth.

HitsterParticipantThe Pacers are having their best season for about 7 or 8 years so to mess with the roster now would be pointless, they will have players to extend and may have trade offers in due course but unless the deal would make them stronger now I’d doubt they would take it.
Paul George was seen as a reach by Larry Bird in the 2010 draft, it now looks like a good piece of business.
Also with David West only on a two year deal they could easily move George and Grainger to 3 and 4 in a couple of year’s time. George could perhaps even be a stretch PF long term like Rashard Lewis was in his early Orlando career. With Big Roy Hibbert at C, any lack of bulk by someone like George can be worked around.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantHe is a good player, and the development of him being able to make an open spot up 3 helps a ton in terms of him helping his team, but there still is not much of an in between game with him. There is good, good for his age/years in the league, and then there is elite. He is not elite, and given the skillsets of the elite 3s in the game (LeBron, Durant, Melo, Pierce) it is hard to think the lack of an in between game is insignificant it makes them near impossible to defend. If you look at why Trevor Ariza, Jared Dudley, and Marvin Williams plateaued, it is because they don’t have that in between game.
