Patrick Patterson

When did he move up so high? I always thought he was going to be taken in the lottery, but i never thought he would be taken ahead of Demarcus Cousins. Right now this site has him going sixth and Cousins going seventh. If Cousins didnt have all the attitude problems everyone is talking about I could see him being a possible number one pick. I dont think there is a chance he falls to 7, not with the talent he has. I think Patterson will be a very solid role player and a starter at some point down the road, but he wont be a star like Cousins

Agreed. Cousins was the

Agreed. Cousins was the better player at Kentucky by the half way point of the season and is years younger than Patterson as well as bigger. If that many teams pass on him it will be a huge mistake.

Right now most of the Mock

Right now most of the Mock Draft Sites are basing their Player Rankings on the hype coming from the Combines...In 2008 Brook Lopez was mentioned as a top 3 pick but he slide to number 10..becuz of poor workouts..Now Brook might be the 3rd best center in the entire league..Cousins is said to not be in good playing condition...When a big man with his skills come along you dont pass him up unless you have a franchise player like John Wall in the draft...Patterson's height was a major issue for some teams..He was listed at 6'9 by the Kentucky guide..But colleges can lie about player's true height..Beasley was listed at 6'10 then after the combine they found out he's 6'8..Patterson reminds me a little of Carlos Boozer..Dont be surprise if Patterson goes as high as number 5 to Sacramento....But i dont think he'll go ahead of Cousins who i think should be the number 2 pick....

i never really thought about

i never really thought about cousins going #2 but now that i think about it, it would give philly the excuse to not play dalembert and then new jersey could get their hands on the wing player they desperately need

Philly

They should take Turner with the 2nd pick. They need a good ball handler and playmaker, as they don't have one currently. That is better than drafting Cousins, who has questions about his conditioning and work ethic.

I have Cousins going 4 in my mock but I have Patterson going 6. I had Patterson going 6 before NBAdraft.net. I dont know why people are saying he is a role player. Where is this concept coming from. I agree he has similarities to Boozer. You can't base your opinion of Patterson based on one year. Also in order to fit in he sacrificed a lot of him game. Everything the people told him to work on after a year he did. If someone could give me a legit argument about why he is seen as a role player I would like to know. That way I can go research and we both can find the truth.

I really like patterson

If you compare measurements from the the combine I believe his concerns go away. With as gifted a big man as he is, and as well developed, he may not ace super star talent but he can be an all star. Boozer, Or jamison career comparisons seem right. And if you could get someone like that why wouldn't you take him? Well if you think someone else will be a superstar. That's where the guess work is, will cousins or even less likely whiteside be the mtumbo, Ewing, Dwight howards of the draft? Its anyones guess my friend, that's why it is so fun!
