Pacers vs heat

I figured I'd start it. Halftime right now and Pacers up 4. Indiana has missed some easy shots around the rim. Miami hasn't gotten hot and the stars are being contained. Huge game 5 with winner getting 2 shots to close it out.

I am surprised Birdman wasn't

I am surprised Birdman wasn't ejected and the start by Hibbert, West and George was very dominant. However Miami are still close and have now taken the lead, Indiana needs to draw fouls.

Whats y'all opinion on the

Whats y'all opinion on the Birdman shove since my FB blew up with "HOW IS HE NOT EJECTED!!" statuses galore.

Just curious if others feel that way..... I personally think it should have been a tech on Birdman only

I feel either Eject birdman

I feel either Eject birdman as he really committed 2 techs and give Tyler 1 (which is stupid cause he just walked into him), but yeah I feel it should've been a tech on Andersen only.

I continue to believe we are

I continue to believe we are watching the 09 Cavs...

It is LeBron or bust, every play, both ways, for 4 quarters. The Heat are starting to take a lead in this game...but even if they win this series, they are going to struggle pretty damn hard against San Antonio with that lack of balance.

Lebron is playing as

Lebron is playing as aggressive as I've seen in forever in this third. They are throwing everything they have at Indiana right now

I wonder in this series what

I wonder in this series what the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" count is on shots taken by Allen and Wade in this series. After every shot they take the commentary is "That woulda been huge" "That woulda made this pathetic crowd get loud" "That shoulda went in, it was a layup" "That coulda went in, if these players weren't washed up"

Bosh is the most frustrating

Bosh is the most frustrating to watch. He is spending way to much time on the 3 point line and outside the paint. He needs to show some grunt and aggressiveness. He just looks to content to stay back, let lebron do it all and hit jumpers.

When Lebron is hitting long 2s and 3s... then just get out of his way because you can't stop him. LBJ is on fire in the 3rd, so ride the hot hand!

With the way MIA is playing defense in the 2nd half of this 3rd quarter, yes Lebron can win the game single handedly.

It is not only when LBJ has

It is not only when LBJ has gotten hot, but throughout the whole series. He can do it all himself, but this is not a sustainable way to win games of basketball and the NBA championship. We saw it in Cleveland that he cannot win it all alone. This Miami team cannot settle especially Bosh cannot just settle and rely on LBJ to drop 35/8/8 and win it himself. It just isn;t sustainable for a 7 game playoffs series

So two of three of Miamis wins in this series are going to be games where they got unbelievable games from Haslem...

I think that qtr may have

I think that qtr may have finished Indiana off. I understand that LBJ was very good, but 12 points in a qtr isn't going to cut it. We went away from what was working and PG was settling for horrible shots.

If you leave a man open

For that long, of course he's going to knock shots down. Its not unbelievable, Haslem has been knocking that shot down for years. Hell he's wide open, he better be making those baseline jumpers.

As "scary" as that quarter

As "scary" as that quarter was, the Heat aren't going to get that sustained player from LeBron. Its impossible. He can have spurts like that, but he can't win the title by himself. He is going to need better help. And again, as good as that quarter is, you got 5-5 from HASLEM

Oh god....how far has he fallen on the shooting guard list? I don't even know if he's anything more than a mediocre player at this point.

The excuses have finally ran

The excuses have finally ran out. He's always hurt, and his regular season stats have been bloated due to the amount of easy shots he gets and the amount of bad teams their are in the league. He had like 3 25+ point games against +.500 teams all season. He just looks like a player who's worn down...and he can't shoot to save his life.

I don't see how you miss the ball going right off of LeBron's leg when the ref is standing right there looking. Nobody touched the ball.

Heat go on 5-0 run right after that.

I don't think

LeBron HADDDD to leave cleveland to win a title.....he was close to it while he was there got in the finals, went deep in the playoffs every year, I think he would've eventually won one and he's even better now than he was then.

I'm with you on lance

he just needs to become a respectable jump shooter and some more time. He had to learn that some of the playground/pick up ball stuff isn't gonna work on professional defenders. With more time he'll slow down more and become more under control and maybe become an allstar caliber player i could see it happening. He has the physical tools.

Its pretty sad to think the 5

Its pretty sad to think the 5 best players Miami has played in 3 rounds are:

1. George
2. Hibbert
3. Noah
4. West
5. Jennings/ Nate Robinson

God.

Pacers played really good

Pacers played really good defense against LeBron in this game and he still went off.

The Heat have had a really good offensive series despite their three point shooters really struggling. Indiana's quick rotations and great individual defense has had a lot to with that, but you can see just how great the Heat offense is that it can still score really well even without a great inside presence or terrific outside shooting.

The Pacers have been tremendous in this series, but I expect the Heat to close it out on Saturday. The Pacers won't go away, but I think the Heat offense, and LeBron James in particular, is just too much.

Like I said above, I love the

Like I said above, I love the way Lance competes, but he and George Hill basically gave the Pacers nothing tonight offensively. The starting backcourt has to give more than 5 points on the road. The Pacers big three showed up in a major way. It was the backcourt that was disappointing tonight.

Games like this makes me miss Danny Granger.

I do think Miami will win

I do think Miami will win this series, I just don't think they should feel all that good about themselves. Indiana has no bench, Hill has been a disaster, and Stephenson is feast or fathom. They basically play 3 1/2 guys vs. about 9 for the Heat. To make it worse, the Heat's 2nd and 3rd best players ARENT PLAYING GOOD AT ALL. They are winning because LeBron is playing out of his mind and Haslem is giving you not one but two 8-9 performances? Birdman NEVER missing a shot? C'mon. They were lucky enough Rose Rondo and Granger are all missing from the playoffs, now washed up role players are stepping up like that? I just don't think its gonna cut it against San Antonio. They'll guard LeBron. And even if he plays well, the Spurs depth is so much better than Indiana's, and Parker is polar opposite of Indiana's PGs. He will make life tough for them. Not struggle to get the ball past Norris Cole at half court.

hard to believe

that back between 06-08 there was a LEGIT debate between who was better between lebron and dwade...both were competing for MVPs....now look at wade....he looks just as washed up as ray allen does out there. Ray atleast has a trait that doesn't fade with age and that shooting though lately he's been off

Only year it was truly debatable was 06. 2007 wasn't close and 2008 Wade blew up but LeBron was still clearly better.

Dwade

Is it just me or does it seem like dwade has not even tried to change his game since he came in the league. Most players tend to become better jump shooters as their careers progress but it seems like his jumper gets more broke every year. I know he's injured a lot but it just looks like he doesn't spend time in the offseason working on the craft. Feel like that's the only plausible explanation for his completely inept game besides crazy finishes and cherry picking.

Devils advocate

I actually feel will play much better in the Spur's series. Indiana runs the Heat off that three point line funneling them into the paint against Hibbert. Its the same reason why the Knicks failed, their offense is primarily three pointers. Battier and Allen aren't hitting three's like normally because they can't get clear shots. Give credit to Indiana's defense, its causing the Heat problems. The Spurs are predominantly an offensive team, lets not get carried away and act like they play better defense than the two teams the Heat have seen already. I'm willing to bet money Miami gets more looks against the Spurs than against Indiana...if the Heat win this series that is.

Man people are really laying

Man people are really laying into Wade, but you could see this coming a mile away, but not because of age or injury, he's lost his passion for the game. Wade is a competitive guy and he just hasn't been able to find a middle-ground between being #1 and being mediocre. He looks like he barely cares if they win or lose, because people won't give him any credit regardless.

Wade has had his moments in this series, I think it's unfair for people to be constantly on his case about getting old and saying Lebron has "no help" when Lebron is completely dominating the ball and doing everything for this team. When Lebron goes on these little runs it completely disrupts the flow of the other stars and makes the role players look amazing.

Also Mario Chalmers seriously irritates me as a player, he flops all over the place, complains about every foul he's called for and then makes dirty plays like the shove on West.

I think the Pacers lost this game as soon as Hill picked up that offensive foul. Augustin is a joke and for whatever reason people aren't prepared to receive George's passes very often.

The Stephenson fouls early also completely disrupted the Pacers' flow and then the back-court couldn't pick it up once he was back in. Stephenson going out hurt Hill because nobody was getting him the looks Lance usually provides.

I really hated to see Miami revert to drawing charges and being rewarded.

Also... the FLOPPING! Dear Lord the flopping!

Until flopping can result in suspension it's going to continue.

But when LeBron isn't going

But when LeBron isn't going through those runs of dominating everything, Bosh and Wade never take over in mini spurts or anything.
