So I noticed during the draft The Pacers first 2 picks they took TJ Leaf at 18 and Ike at 47 both Lonzo’s teammates from UCLA last year. Also noticed that when the Lakers traded the 28 for 30 and 42 I thought "oh they picked up another assest to send in the Paul George trade" since it was rumored they wanted more assests. Then with the extra assest the Lakers picked Thomas Bryant from Indiana. And 5 picks later Indiana takes Ike from Ucla almost saying we dont need your young center prospect from Indiana we just picked one who went to Ucla. Bird and Magic going at it? trying to entice Lonzo to pacers? Lakers picking prospects who might fit Indiana and want to stay long term? Weird dynamic.

Bird ain’t in charge of the Pacers!!!

Look I have no idea what is happening in Indiana and personally I wanted this saga to end today so that we could move on to look towards the future, apparently Pritchard has deals in place that he could’ve/can take we will see if that’s true.

The apparent Celtics offer was Zeller, Crowder and Smart, I don’t hate Pritchard for saying no to that however not getting a deal done in very near future could turn fans against the organisation.
Pritchard also said that the statement from Paul George was like a “gut-punch” in other words did not see it coming and seemed pissed about having to talk about the situation.

The leverage to get a draft pick is gone, but I still feel there is a small potential to get some half-decent young prospects with some contracts to match things up:
Lakers: Clarkson + Randle for PG13
Boston: Smart + Rozier for PG13

A team like Washington may come in with a Sign & Trade proposal of Otto Porter + Kelly Oubre for PG13 which would give Wizards a scary trio in Wall, Beal and George and Indiana 2 young starting wings with Turner, Leaf and Stephenson.

I really like that idea for Washington but you have to think that PG13 wouldn’t want to stay there past the year. Maybe if they knock off the Cavs in the playoffs but very big if.

I can’t remember the exact rumors, but other teams have already offered better packages than the Lakers can (unless they use Ball or Ingram). You make some very interesting observations. But it also looks like the picks made were designed around keeping Ball and the draft picks. Kuzma and Hart have the shooting you need to surround Ball with.

Is Traitor Danny gonna get in this Paul George stuff, or just keep sitting on the sidelines?

Have fun with the 8th pick in 2019!

while retaining Lonzo Ball & Brandon Ingram

I don’t know it that is possible & waiting until Free Agency next summerr is probably the Best option if retaining Ingram & Ball is the goal

But I must admit that I am Very nervous about just waiting & hoping another team – a possible Title contender like Boston or Cleveland – does not swooop in & trade for PG13 & then the season goes So well that George stays.

What do some of my fellow Lakers fans think? Should Magic put dangle Ingram to land Paul George immediately? I’m very conflicted

i would love to bring him in. But ingram and ball are off the table. Julius randle can go along with corey brewer and tarick black so that they dont have to take long bad contract back. Not sure what other piece would have to be included becasue just the above obviously doesnt get it done.

I guess just hope for best that he signs next summer. How many potential locations would he fall in love with if his heart is in Los Angeles? Clippers are a possibility.
