Alright fellas, it’s game seven in what has become one hell of a series. I’m expecting another intense game from both teams. Who do y’all have taking this one and ultimately facing the Spurs in the Finals?

I’m predicting heat. I dont believe stern or any officials is gonna fix anything, but the defending champs with more star power playing at home, I do think they get the benefit of the whistle tonight. Plus I think those jumpers start falling for the role players and the big 3 all play with high energy. Indiana is gonna see a lot more rotations and guys in their way down low making it tougher to dominate the paint. pulling for Indiana though.

I’m also taking the Heat. Home court should help, they get Birdman Birdman back to provide some energy, and that one guy named LeBron? I expect him to be uber aggressive attacking the rim tonight. I’m hoping for a great game though!

Good start for Miami. Attacking the rim, aggressively forcing TOs, pushing the tempo. Miami is really exploiting its advantages right now.

Hibbert having trouble passing out of the double team…Heat will exploit that as the game goes on, so he needs to be ready to pass. Pacers need to HOLD ONTO THE BALL! and attempt to get into the paint more. It would really open up their inside game too

Look I understand that the Heat are attacking the rim and playing very aggressive. But they still lost the first quarter and that is with Wade playing his best thus far. I still think the Heat are going to win the game but this is going to be a battle. Or at least I hope so…

I know HIbbert has a great thing going for him and gets a lot of respect because the “Verticality” rule he commends to when he is contesting shot. But just being honest and watching over and over again, what Hibbert is actually doing is jumping vertical and horizontal. He’s jumping out but keeping his hands and arms vertical. You may disagree but if that was any other big man in the league, thats a foul. He’s not jumping straight up.

Shout out to Chris Bosh for trying tonight. Heat gotta love oweing 60 million dollars to a player who admits to his teammates he wasn’t playing hard enough for 6 games of a series.

The Heat are winning because of Indiana’s terrible play. So sloppy. Get these bench scrubs out. Force feeding Wade and Bosh isn’t working.

Bosh is the best big on the floor at the moment.

LeBron has taken 9 shots for his 18 points

Wade has a steal, block, assist, a few rebounds, playing hard on defense and is interested on the offensive end.

The three best players on the floor are LeBron, Wade, and Bosh in that order… for both teams.

For all the good things Indiana has done this series, this game has really showed why this team is flawed.

They have absolutely no depth, and they turn the ball over way too much. They had so many chances in the 2nd quarter to get back in the game with a good possession and failed. I like George Hill as a 3rd guard. He can shoot, and I love his intensity. But he isn’t a good point guard at all.

When you look at the Heat, Ray Allen is hot, and Bosh and Wade are playing like 2013 Bosh and Wade (which isn’t anything groundbreaking) and its making a HUGE difference. The Pacers were living by their frontcourt outplaying Miami’s whole team, and they are dieing by it tonight.

I gotta give credit to Miami’s post defense this game. They’re making it a living hell for Hibbert. He must adjust his game down low in the 2nd. Paul George has to get going, too.

Also: The Heat are far from done tonight. You can celebrate all 2nd quarter dunks you want LeBron, this was a team with “fo-fo-fo” potential, and you got pushed to the brink against a 49 win team. San Antonio has strengths at basically where all the Pacers flaws lie.

Some bench production would be great. But the thing I want to see most in the 2nd half is the Pacers reacting quicker to the Miami’s traps on both the pick and roll and also on that first pass the ballhandler makes. Miami is making some quick rotations, but they can’t move faster than the ball. If Indiana can make quick, crisp passes that are on point, they can absolutely get back into this game.

Huge first half for Miami. The Pacers need to find a way to get good post catches for Hibbert, because there weren’t many in the first half. The Pacers actually shot pretty well on jump shots that 1st half, with Stephenson getting hot and Hill knocking some good looks down, but the Pacers were just unable to get good deep post catches for their big men, which they have been getting all series. Perhaps they could try more high-low options of the pick-and-roll or just try to swing the ball around the perimeter following the pick-and-roll to open up post-ups on the weak side. Whatever they do, they will need to find some way to get the ball to the weak side of the floor much quicker when Miami traps.

Heat just need to keep aggressively trapping. They want the Pacers to continue to rely on Stephenson knocking down jump shots. The Heat had an excellent offensive 1st half and need to keep attacking. Hibbert getting in foul trouble is huge.

George is the key for the Pacers. He has made an absurd number of contested threes in this series. Those typically aren’t ideal shots, but the Pacers probably need George to hit a few in the second half for them to overcome this deficit. I’m not saying they should look for them, but they aren’t going to comeback from 15 down without hitting some big shots.

I never clicked on that “is Paul George a superstar” thread, but I think this game is showing he still has some growing to do to enter that category. They just showed some of allens and millers wide open looks, and it was George not guarding anyone. He also turned his head on lebron and ball watched wade who was being well defended and let lebron get a layup.

No idea what the stats are, but I dont think he has played lebron head to head. Maybe 1 or 2 games he has. But consistency is part of being in the elite. And i would have said he hasn’t entered “superstar” territory before this game. I’m not basing it on this half. He certainly is close though and should be in that category soon.

Yes LeBron has been better. He’s Lebron. George has hung with him though.

Paul George 21.5 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 5.3 APG

          Lebron 28.5 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 5.5 APG

Yes LeBron has been better. He’s Lebron. George has hung with him though.

I’m not hating and you’re correct about him not having to = lebron to be a superstar. But when he struggles, he really disappears. I mean think about kobes most criticized game ever, game 7 vs Boston. He was struggling big time shot 6-24 bit still scored 24 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and locked rondo up. When George really struggles, he looks like just another player out there. Hell, take the team down with you, but don’t fade into the background.

In short, Paul George has very high peaks and very low valleys.

atdee.net has a good link. It wasn’t working earlier, but now it is. The first link has good definition.

Paul George looks intimidated, he keeps picking up his dribble and taking horrible shots.

5 fouls on Hibbert. It’s done. The Pacers came this far and should build on this experience of getting this far in the postseason. They have a bright future.

The stage was too big and the Pacers played poorly tonight, but this loss doesn’t sting all that bad. I’m proud of my squad regardless. Huge experience being gained right here. Our weaknesses are well known at this point and hopefully they’ll be addressed this summer.

The Pacers are going to be right back here next season. They’ve gotten better every season.

I called it in a previous thread:
I predicted a 40 point blow out. with 3 minutes left, heat up by 26.
    everyone called me crazy.

Heat vs spurs. I’ll pull for the spurs. seeing Duncan tie Kobe with 5 rings doesn’t excite me. As for Indiana, need to resign west and they’ll be right back in the mix next year. The bulls with rose should be back next year as well so that will be 3 solid squads in the east.
