festar35ParticipantThe more games I watch of Indiana, the more I feel we really need a consistent scoring guard at the 1 or 2. They are seriously lacking that guy in the back-court, there is no denying Hill and Ellis are both talented , but I can’t help feel that acquiring a younger guard to play with Turner and George would be a really good idea.
My question is do you think that Indiana has enough assets to acquire that kind of player in the off-season?
The first guy I am looking at is Brandon Knight who is only 21 years old as he has the capability to put up 17-20ppg as well as run an offense. I would also try go after Eric Bledsoe who isn’t quite the scorer of Knight and is a bit older, but can defend better as well as more adept at running the point.
Could a package of Hill’s expiring contract and a first rounder work?
I don’t really know a lot of 2-guards who will be available, maybe try acquire Clarkson, Fournier as restricted free agency or try trade for Alec Burks maybe.

Hype MachineMahinmi for Dion Waiters? Kevin Martin for a future 1st rounder?

festar35ParticipantWaiters offers nothing more than what Ellis already does and Kevin Martin is likely to be bought out if Minny could have gotten a 1st rounder it would have already happened.

Hype Machinelol cmon man you gotta be a bit realistic here.
You’re asking for players with All-Star potential for what is essentially a late 1st rounder.
For a pick that is essentially in the 20-25 range….Dion Waiters is what you get. If you want Eric Bledsoe, you give up Turner.
Otherwise, you don’t have the assets to get an upgrade.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantJeff Teague is apparently available and the Pacers shouldn’t need too much to acquire him especially if Atlanta decides to go in a new direction next year. Teague might be revitalized by a move back to his hometown.

festar35ParticipantSo are you guys saying with the negatives that Indiana’s back-court is fine and doesn’t need an upgrade? Or is it that Knight and Bledsoe are unrealistic?
Obviously it would cost Indiana more than Hill and their 1st rounder at this point, BUT have a look out East the Pacers could still end up lottery bound with the Pistons and Wiz playing well along with them losing to key teams like the Hornets and Heat also in the hunt. The Suns could be interested.
My issue with Teague is Teague/Ellis back-court would have a lot of problems defensively.

Hype MachineDude even the real Uncle Fester could come up with a fairer trade than what you’re proposing.
It’s probably the most homer-istic I’ve seen on here.

festar35ParticipantIt’s not a trade offer, it’s the assets that Indiana has and a start. I think 1st rounder, Hill and extras would be required.
At this point no one has come up with anything in terms of if Indiana has enough to trade for either player, that’s why I asked the question what would it take to potentially get one of them.
Clearly Turner and George are off limits at this point.

ExumInfernoParticipantI would put Paul George at shooting guard, and find a new small forward.
A center, Turner and a small forward with range, G Hill with defense and 3s at point guard, Paul George would have the floor spread and a size advantage over his opponent.
George can play at least three positions, which does give the Pacers options.
