If Arenas makes a smooth transition into Orlando should they trade nelson for an athletic big who  can play both 4 and 5, maybe Marcus Camby or Tyrus Thomas, both Charlotte and Portland are in need of a PG, and Nelson could fit the bill, any other ideas??

I think Stan Van Gundy has already made it quite clear that Nelson is his point guard. I’d rather see them trade someone like Quentin Richardson or JJ Redick, both whos minutes minute will decrease with this new trade. JJ is a more valuable trading asset  and has been playing very good as of late. I’m the Magic in my 2K association and even more the trade that just happened I dealt Redick and Daniel Orton for Anderson Varajeo. Now that they lose Lewis it makes even more sense to me to add another big man and Varajeo would be great for this team; rebound and defend, thats pretty much all their gonna need from their starting power forward and I just dont think Bass can get the job done full time as a defender or rebounder. BTW, I think the trade for Earl Clark was an awesome move, this guy can really be something special! he will still have a player to learn under in Hedo (similar skillset minus the shooting, but is 2 times the athlete) but will now be put in a winning environment which should further his growth and development Even without another trade Orlando is still in great position to make a run for the championship.

Nelson is too clutch and is the type of starting Point Guard that you win championships with.  But Nelson also don’t have to be a ball beater and could space the floor for Arenas to create.  I really like Jason Richardson on this team but I don’t like him starting at Small Forward.  I actually like Jason Richardson starting at shooting guard and having Arenas be the 6th man for starters.  I think all Orlando really needs is another defensive minded wing player and they’re about as stocked as anyone for a championship run.

One trade I think would work out well for both teams but doubt it would happen because it would of been a 3 way trade if it were gonna happen is trading Jason Richardson and a first rounder to Philly for Iggy and Battie.  Iggy would be the perimeter defender and all around facilitating glue guy and Battie is another big who can still defend rebound and block shots going home to Orlando.

Philly would get J Rich’s contract off the books at the end of the year and a first round pick.  Plus Richardson would average over 20 points a game no doubt for the Sixers so resigning him is not out of the question.

What about JRich and Orton for Gerald Wallace? The Bobcats are shopping both Wallace and Stephen Jackson, and Wallace could be that superior wing defender (not to mention he’s an all-star) who is athletic enough to play the 4. And the Bobcats are looking for cap relief.

    Why not?

magic arent giving up richardson for dudes who cant shoot. he is the perfect fit to start at the 2 in orlando.

they re more likely to give up redick duhon or richardson for a reliable back up to dwight.

The Magic would be dumb not to think of trading Richardson For Iggy because Iggy gives your a premier Small Forward, and Arenas would give them that premiere shooting guard.  With Nelson on that team, and neither Arenas or Richardson being able to start games at Small Forward obviously not Arenas but Jason Richardson has proven that just because you are athletic and 6’6 does not mean you have the skill set to play small forward.  Cuz Richardson don’t.  The same reason Hamilton never really played small forward and a few other tall shooting guards.  Richardson don’t rebound or work well in traffic.  Iggy does and would be a perfect fit in Orlando’s system.  Not to mention Iggy and DH coming down on a fast break would be the scariest thing in this league.  Iggy would get DH just as many easy baskets as Nelson does.
