NbafanmanParticipantAs a Magic fan I believe what we need to do is package our 12th pick in a trade along with Harlkless to Charlotte for the 9th pick. The hornets get a good young sf/pf and still are able to draft one of their guys (Stauskus,McDermott,Young,Gary Harris). In this scenario Orlando would be in prime position to draft any one of these combos at #4 and #9
- Exum/Gordon
- Randle/Lavine
- Vonleh/Lavine
- Exum/McDermott
Are any of these combinations worth losing Harlkless? And do you think Charlotte would agree to the trade knowing they’ll have one of the 4 guys I mentioned above drop into their laps at #12.

Huesy7ParticipantWhy not just do a straight swap, AA for the 9th pick?
Hornets need another vetran, SG and another scorer i.e Afflalo!
At 4 Orlando could take Exum and at 9 they would hope for Gordon (Randle or Vonleh if they slipped that far)
This would allow Oladipo to play his natural position and also fill the need of a PF, Gordon could also play the three to fill in some of Afflalo’s presence.
Also if a straight swap happened the Magic would retain their 12th pick at which they could get a volume scorer i.e Stauskas (McDermott if he slipped)
Magic lineup
PG Exum/Nelson/Oladipo
SG Oladipo/Stauskas/Harkless
SF Harris/Harkless/Gordon
PF Gordon/O’Quinn/Nicholson
C Vucevic/O’Quinn

joecheck88ParticipantThis is found money for Charlotte really. AA is a good player but this is a chance for the Hornets to draft a young athletic guy with potential. I’m hoping they take a swing for the fences with Lavine or James Young but they could take Harris who I think will be AA like but much younger. Charlotte should keep their pick and take someone they like.
Harkless is still very young and I wouldn’t give up on him just yet.
