It will be easy for any of Kentucky’s rotation players, besides I guess Kyle Wiltjer, to justify entering the draft this year. But that doesn’t mean they have to. Davis and MKG definitely have the green light, T-Jones might to well to stay but is also excused and I can still imagine Teague going as high as 13-18, plus you’ve got waiting in the wings.

Doron Lamb, I believe, should definitely stay in school.

Though his game is as polished – if not more so – as his more highly coveted teammates, I think he stay in school another year; I don’t see him going higher than 20 in a deep draft class. With another year continuing to hone his guard skills (he’s shown the ability to bring the ball up and set up the offense but he has room to grow), a more dynamic mid-range game and more spotlight, I believe he could go top 10 next year. This year is unusually loaded with off guards, and he doesn’t look particularly unique next to Beal, Lamb, Rivers, Ross, even Waiters. The only SG’s this site touts as first rounders next year are Shabazz, Caldwell-Pope, Reggie Bullock and Jamaal Franklin.

Lamb could easily have an enormous 2012-13 as the go-to guy for the Wildcats. He is a fantastic shooter (48.6% 3PT as fr., 46.6% so.) and with a solid handle who knows how to get his shot and he’s an assertive scorer. When Kentucky needed a bucket last year, it was Lamb as often as anyone else that they looked to. I could easily see him averaging close to 20 a game next year while displaying a more versatile approach to the game on both ends. He would also transform Kentucky from a borderline top 10 team into a title contender. Imagine a lineup of:

    PG – Ryan Harrow

    SG – Doron Lamb

    SF  – Alex Polythress

    PF – Kyle Wiltjer

    C – Nerlens Noel

As a guy who’s going to make his living in the pros as a scorer who plays in the 10-20 foot range, I don’t see the rush for him to leave to be a late-ish first rounder when he could come back, round out his game some more, get some experience as a go-to guy and have an awesome year. And I think he would have a truly awesome year, perhaps the greatest threat to Cody Zeller for POY.

Usually I would agree but the NBA draft-college has changed so much from 15 years ago. You still had people leaving early like Magic Johnson but you knew that meant they were top top guys and playing 4 years wasnt bad for players like Grant Hill or Tim Duncan. Thing is now if you have a chance to go 1st round I would leave beacause all they do now is critique. Noah and Hibbert both returned and both lost draft position

Don’t they have Archie Goodwin coming into the shooting guard spot?!

Next years Kentucky team wont be as good as this year just cuz they dont have returning leadership. Miller and Terrence Jones at least played the previous season. That means alot. Winning games late is important and all freshmen plus Wiltjer wont do it. I dont think they will be as good as the Wall-Cousins-Patterson team either

this is true….the perception is….the longer you stay the less talented you are or the less of a prospect you are.

of course Lamb could return and be a National POY candidate, he could also get hurt….or have a worse season than his previous…ala Vashon Lenard.

Teague has shown no leadership skills this year, becauise of the engines in MKG and Davis. He would be the leader next year.

Also, some projections show Lamb could slide to a contender where he could be a solid bench contributor as a rookie while developing with a winning franchise.  Imagine if he slid to the Bulls and could be eased into action early and become a difference maker for the post season and future years.  May be better then staying for another year and getting into the lottery where his game may not be suited for the leading roll.

Yeah,i think Teague instead of Doron Lamb should be the 1 that should stay..Lamb will be a 1st rounder, while Teague is considered a borderline 1st rounder….

I hope Rodney Hood doesnt decide to go pro instead of transfering, becuz he has the talent to be a special player….

CJ Leslie played well toward the end of the season..He’s got to continue to prove he’s more then just a great athlete..And with the guys they have returning and coming in next season, he can really boost his stock next season, instead of coming out this year and going in the early to mid 2nd round…
