boxers

Those shorts look a lot like boxers haha. It still amazes me how they could do sports and play basketball in Chucks.

He scissor kicked 6'6" in

He scissor kicked 6'6" in high jump. If he used today's common the form, the Fosbury, he could easily add a foot to that number. Wilt was and would be today, an Olympic caliber track and field athlete.

7'2

My dad always told me he could high jump 7'2. No clue where he got that from, if it is true, or if anyone was even doing that high back then.

Not in college, but maybe

Not in college, but maybe later in life he tried it again, I know for a fact that his best jumps in college were 6'6''. I'm a former high jumper myself and I know I could jump about a foot higher with the Fosbury than I could scissor kicking. If Wilt were using moden techniques, If he were training for the event today I would assume 7'2'' would be on the lower end of his capabilities, this is an educated guess, but I think 7'6'' or 7'7'' could be his max. That wouldn't win him an Olympic Gold, but he'd be one of the top 10 or so guys in the world.
